FFP3 MASK REDESIGN
Working with the NHS and Health Protection
Scotland (HPS), our group created a ‘onesize
fits all’ redesign of the FFP3 mask. A
window was also incorporated into the mask,
making it less intimidating to young children
and improve communication, both through
lip reading and through showing the facial
expressions of the user.
FINAL PRESENTATION PROTOTYPE
Throughout the project, prototyping
techniques such as foam mock-ups, vacuum
forming and 3D printing were utilised to
model potential mask shapes and present the
potential designs to the client. Contamination
tests were carried out to assess the viability
of the forms.
