Kilmacolm Horticultural Society<br />
CMRP Regional Park Round Up<br />
Tartan Walk<br />
The <strong>February</strong> lecture of the Kilmacolm Horticultural Society will be presented on<br />
Wednesday 18th <strong>February</strong> at 7.30pm. In Kilmacolm Community Centre. Our speaker<br />
is the renowned Ian Craig, President of Glasgow Beekeeping Association. Ian is a<br />
Renfrewshire man but is known world-wide for his devotion to Beekeeping. Please<br />
come along, bring your friends, and enjoy refreshments after the lecture.<br />
On 18th March our Spring lecture will be presented by Mr Ian McCrorie, with stories and<br />
pictures of his favourite topic - the history of the<br />
West Highland steamers, the Clyde steamers,<br />
and the Waverley paddlesteamer. Ian is well<br />
known to many residents of Inverclyde, retired<br />
teacher, organist, choirmaster, raconteur, Ian is a<br />
much loved personality of the West of Scotland.<br />
Come along and enjoy a very special evening.<br />
Plus the Spring Bulb competition - get the bulbs<br />
warmed up and ready to burst into Spring flower<br />
in time to win the coveted Jimmy Whittet trophy.<br />

The annual tartan walk is again returning<br />
to Castle Semple! Join people from the<br />
Renfrewshire Feeling Fitter network as they<br />
stroll around the village of Lochwinnoch and<br />
sing a few verses of some good Scottish tunes!<br />
Walk leaves the Centre at 11am on Friday 13th<br />
<strong>February</strong>.<br />
Pedal the Park<br />
Plans are beginning to take shape with Ride 63 for Pedal the Park <strong>2015</strong>!<br />
This highlight of this cycling festival will be a 60km sportive! Sign up now<br />
via British Cycling Events. Also on the day we will have family friendly rides,<br />
a hand biking ride, mountain biking route, kit demos and event village with<br />
representatives from all over. Not into cycling? Be a volunteer marshal<br />
instead!<br />
Race 2 the games Legacy<br />
Dates are set for the Scottish Multi-Class Access Regatta – Sat 20th and<br />
Sun 21st June with training days running on the Thurs 18th and Fri 19th<br />
June. Please get in touch if you can help with sponsorship or organising<br />
either event.<br />
Stargazing Returns to Muirshiel Centre<br />
The next in our successful run of stargazing evenings takes place on<br />
Friday 13th <strong>February</strong>. Please book on 01505 842 882 Ex20 as event can<br />
be relocated from Muirshiel Centre to Castle Semple Centre at short notice<br />
due to weather conditions affecting the road.<br />
Plan Ahead!<br />
Are you thinking ahead to holiday activities already? Why not plan in some<br />
multi activity courses for the kids at Castle Semple at Easter? Courses run<br />
6th - 10th & 13th – 17th and it’s a great way to increase your child’s water<br />
confidence by learning new skills and making new friends!<br />
Duke of Edinburgh Programmes<br />
Clyde Muirshiel is an approved activity provider to deliver Duke of Edinburgh<br />
programmes. We’re currently working on new opportunities for 14 – 25 year<br />
olds, no matter what their ability, to do their Duke of Edinburgh at Clyde<br />
Muirshiel. There are new offerings contributing mainly to the skill, physical<br />
and expedition sections of the award. Look on our website for<br />
details.<br />
Ride 63 Club News & Ride Out Info!<br />
A Community Cycle Group ‘Ride 63’ is up and running, next<br />
ride out on <strong>February</strong> 26th. More info on when they’re going<br />
