PRINCESS MA
AND MOON GODDESS
PRINCESS MARIANA is more like a wish list than practically any other yacht yet built.
But the key factor is not the long list of entertainment features but how brilliantly they
have been accomplished.
For example, many big yachts have graduated from Jacuzzi to oversize Jacuzzi
to swimming pool. Princess Mariana dispenses with half measures and goes for a
12 metre underlit indoor pool. And this is the spirit that defined the yacht’s specification.
Why bother with just an idea when you can have something really spectacular?
Designed by Espen Oeino with an interior by François Zuretti, Princess Mariana has
a dedicated area for just about everything within her six decks and 79 metres (258’).
Where to start? 12 guests sleep aboard but 50 can be catered for during the
day. To enter the yacht, guests walk past a double deck-height waterfall. In the formal
cinema as well as throughout the yacht, guests can choose from the film library held
on five one-terrabyte entertainment systems. A nightclub has three cinema screens
and a spa pool. The beach club (with that swimming pool) is created by a teak
platform folding down from practically the entire length of starboard hull. A spot of
exercise? Try the golf driving range. Need pampering? Visit the spa beauty salon.
We haven’t yet mentioned the dining options. (Which deck, in or outdoors, are
the principal questions.) Saloons with huge sofas and armchairs are found on every
level and, as far as we are aware, this is the first yacht that actually has an entire
deck called the Party Deck.
