How to lay Bradstone products Specific laying instructions will vary according to the type of Bradstone product you are putting down and for most products, there are a number of common elements involved. Typically, you will have to mark out the area you plan to excavate and clear it of vegetation. You will also usually have to dig out to the desired level and lay down a sub-base, the nature of which depends on the product being laid. After laying, you will probably have to point all the joints and possibly, in the case of block paving, finish off by sweeping sand into any gaps. Legislation affecting driveways If you are looking to pave your driveway, you need to take into account recent legislation affecting the hard surfacing of driveways. Put simply, if the area at the front of your property to be covered is more than five square metres, you will need planning permission. This planning consent is not required, however, if you opt for a porous or permeable paving solution.
