Introducti on
The ICSNN is a biennial conference series with a traditi on lasti ng
back to the 1980s, usually being the largest satellite conference
to the Internati onal <strong>Conference</strong> on the Physics of Semiconductors
(ICPS), which will be held in Zürich, Switzerland the week
aft er ICSNN. In the past decade ICSNN was held in Kyongju,
South Korea (2000), Toulouse, France (2002), Cancun, Mexico
(2004), Istanbul, Turkey (2006), Natal, Brazil (2008) and Beijing,
China (2010).
Scope
•Nanostructure fabricati on techniques, including self assembly
•Nanoelectronics with single electrons, new transport phenomena
in nanostructures
•Nanophotonics and quantum opti cs in single quantum dots,
microcaviti es and photonic bandgap materials
•Semiconductor nano-spintronics, spin manipulati on in nanostructures,
magneti c/semiconductor hybrid nanosystems
•Terahertz physics and devices
•Solid state quantum informati on
•Carbon nanotubes and graphene
•Emerging materials and devices: nanoelectronics in biosystems,
hybrid organic semiconductor systems, molecular systems and
devices
•Electronic and opti cal properti es of novel semiconductor
structures (e.g. dilute nitrides)
Prizes
ICSNN 2012 will give three awards during its venue.
(1) The Superlatti ces, Nanostructures and Nanodevices (SNN)-
Young Scienti st Award ($ 1,500).
This award will recognize a young scienti st born aft er December
31, 1972 for his/her work in the scienti fi c areas covered by the
conference.
(2) Two student poster awards (2 x $ 500)
These awards will be given to two students presenti ng posters
during the conference.

The conference will be held in the new Internati onal Congress
