A Note About Tipping<br />
Everyone appreciates being acknowledged for a job well<br />
done. A question commonly asked by <strong>our</strong> customers is:<br />
“What tips are included in the<br />
cost of my t<strong>our</strong>”?<br />
Perkiomen does include all necessary tips throughout the<br />
t<strong>our</strong> to people such as bellmen, doormen and wait staff if the<br />
itinerary indicates that the meal is included. We also include tips<br />
to step-on or local guide services that might be used throughout<br />
the t<strong>our</strong>.<br />
Perkiomen does not automatically include tips for the<br />
motorcoach driver or escort as we feel that these gratuities<br />
should be extended on an individual basis, dictated by the quality<br />
of service provided.<br />
Many travelers ask for guidelines for tipping drivers and escorts<br />
while on a Perkiomen T<strong>our</strong>. When it comes to tipping in <strong>our</strong><br />
industry, there are no exact rules or official standards.<br />
Following are some recently published<br />
tipping guidelines:<br />
S<strong>our</strong>ce: Consumer Reports Travel Letter<br />
For both domestic and international t<strong>our</strong>s, tips generally<br />
range from $2 to $8 per person, per day for a t<strong>our</strong> escort<br />
or director and $1 to $5 per person, per day for a driver.<br />
S<strong>our</strong>ce: CNN / Money, The Emily Post Institute’s “Itty<br />
Bitty <strong>Guide</strong> to Tipping” and tipping.org.<br />
<strong>Bus</strong> T<strong>our</strong>s:<br />
One-day trips, guide and driver: 10%-20% of the<br />
cost of the t<strong>our</strong>.<br />
Extended t<strong>our</strong>s, guide and driver: $1-$10 per day.<br />
