Monte Montgomery<br />

Monte Montgomery has taken the<br />

acoustic guitar beyond anyone's ex-<br />

pectations. With his amazing fret-<br />

work, unique combination finger and<br />

pick style playing through trailblaz-<br />

ing"chordal" thoroughfares often<br />

baffling even the most accomplished<br />

players.<br />

While Monte remains a huge enigma<br />

in the guitar universe, his legendary<br />

reputation has spread like wildfire<br />

since he appeared on Austin City Lim-<br />

its. In 2004 Monte was named on<br />

Guitar Player Magazine's list of "Top<br />

50 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time"<br />

and in 2005 he was featured the Cov-<br />

ers of "Frets" and "Acoustic Guitar"<br />

magazines.<br />

Countless articles have been written<br />

about Monte describing him "The<br />

Evel Knievel of Guitar", "Six Strings<br />

Attached To Dynamite", "The Answer<br />

To The Fermi Paradox" and<br />

"The Acoustic Shred Master" just to<br />

name a few. Monte's fretwork has<br />

become the benchmark for acoustic<br />

guitar players. "An American Origi-<br />

John Cowan<br />

Bluegrass, Newgrass,<br />

rization and John Cowan is<br />

the ultimate innovator.His<br />

ability to move easily be-<br />

tween music styles and<br />

blend and bend genres into<br />

creative new forms has<br />

made him one of the most<br />

significant voices in acoustic<br />

music over the past thirsty<br />

years.<br />

After making a name<br />

for himself as one of the<br />

most in-demand vocalists in<br />

the early 1970s’ music<br />

scene in Louisville, KY.,<br />

Cowan rose to fame when<br />

he became the lead singer<br />

for New Grass Revival. He<br />

and band mates Sam Bush,<br />

Bela Fleck, and Pat Flynn in-<br />

troduced a new generation<br />

of music fans to an explo-<br />

sive, experimental brand of<br />

bluegrass. After inspiring<br />

and entertaining fans for<br />

nearly two decades, New<br />

Grass disbanded in 1990.<br />

Cowan immediately gave<br />

chase to his creative muse<br />

following it all over the mu-<br />

sical landscape with a series<br />

of critically acclaimed al-<br />

bums. The Evansville,<br />

Indiana-native wrapped his<br />

expansive voice around<br />

tunes that ran the gamut<br />

from rock to souls to blues<br />

and beyond. As the 21st<br />

century began he found<br />

himself circling slowly, in-<br />

exorably back to the acous-<br />

tic music that he knew so<br />
