and am<strong>at</strong>eur sports. <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong>, the n<strong>at</strong>ions premier family<br />
w<strong>at</strong>erpark, has been growing to integr<strong>at</strong>e multiple sports, lodging and<br />
entertainment facilities into its successful model. Now <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong><br />
wishes to bring its l<strong>at</strong>est gener<strong>at</strong>ion of award winning destin<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
level multiuse family sports, lodging and w<strong>at</strong>er entertainment to <strong>Fort</strong><br />
<strong>Lauderdale</strong>. We call it the <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>W<strong>at</strong>erpark</strong> and <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Village</strong><br />
of <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong>.<br />
Given <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong>’s extensive history of professional and am<strong>at</strong>eur<br />
sports, <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>W<strong>at</strong>erpark</strong> and <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Village</strong> of <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong><br />
is excited to incorpor<strong>at</strong>e am<strong>at</strong>eur <strong>at</strong>hletics into the overall concept.<br />
<strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>W<strong>at</strong>erpark</strong> & Vac<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>Village</strong> of <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong> will<br />
cre<strong>at</strong>e a multi-sport multi-use, st<strong>at</strong>e-of-the-art <strong>at</strong>hletic facility,<br />
complete with environmentally friendly, high quality products, with<br />
both player and fan friendly amenities.<br />
The <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>W<strong>at</strong>erpark</strong> and <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Village</strong> of <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong><br />
proposes to use the present loc<strong>at</strong>ions of Lockhart and <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong><br />
stadiums as the physical basis of the <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> w<strong>at</strong>erpark and<br />
sports complex. As much as possible, the present stadiums will be<br />
retained and morphed and upgraded into the multiuse center. These<br />
will include in addition to the new w<strong>at</strong>erpark resort, renov<strong>at</strong>ions to<br />
the existing <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong> Stadium, allowing for virtual golf, baseball<br />
and softball simul<strong>at</strong>ors. At the <strong>Sports</strong> Retail Center, the food and<br />
beverage service will be cre<strong>at</strong>ively themed taking visitors back in time.<br />
Food offerings will range from healthful selections to family-favorites<br />
of pizza and burgers. Adults will enjoy the wide selection of beers and<br />
wines available.<br />
At the <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Village</strong> guests can particip<strong>at</strong>e in a wide<br />
variety of activities ranging from the mild to the wild. Visitors can bike,<br />
climb, jump and run, or play in almost any sport imaginable, all loc<strong>at</strong>ed<br />
in modern facilities within the <strong>Schlitterbahn</strong> <strong>W<strong>at</strong>erpark</strong> and <strong>Sports</strong><br />
<strong>Village</strong>. The <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Village</strong> would be used for intramural team sports<br />
and local recre<strong>at</strong>ional team sports use, but its main intent is designed<br />
to increase the number of teams, players and families coming to<br />
<strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Lauderdale</strong>. When you bring together the existing 18,500-se<strong>at</strong><br />
Lockhart Stadium, the entire multi-sport multi-use, st<strong>at</strong>e-of-the-art<br />
<strong>at</strong>hletic facility is complete.<br />
