Clariant Carpet Hot Melt Backing
Licocene® are ready-to-use polypropylene hot melts. These outperforming metallocene polymers cover a
wide viscosity range of 200-6000 mPas at 170°C. The melting points are between 85-125°C. They show
low surface tension and high cohesion at low molecular weight. Due to the low glass transition temperature,
Licocene® offer a high flexibility even at cold temperatures. The stiffness is depending on crystallinity and
the amount of filler. Combinations with flame retardants and anti-statics are possible. Moreover Licocene®
are solvent, water and odor free, therefore ecological friendly.

Sanitized® consist of tested combinations of various active ingredients with safe bacteriostatic, fungistatic
and in cases additionally acaristatic action and excellent safety for people and the environment. They deprive
the microorganisms of the opportunity to draw nourishment from the environment and thus prevent their
multiplication.
Antimicrobial finishes for the carpet pile and backing are gaining interest among carpet users. These finishes
protect the carpet against odours caused by microbial action and mould stains. Sanitized® products offer
long- lasting protection in rooms or entrance areas.

Both non-ionic products, achieving bacteriostatic, fungistatic and acaristatic protection can be applied in
dyebath or foam application. Combinations with fluorocarbon and stainblocker are possible. Applications
with the carpet backing are giving long lasting protection.
