Page 31 — Sound of Pictures — The Long Journey RAM ARVIND S I n the cold dewy morning, I arrived here, at this picturesque valley point, to catch a break from the materialistic world. The journey after this might be dark or bright. The mystery doesn't bother me, because what matters is the ten minutes of uninterrupted joy and peace I seek from this breath-taking spot. That is life to me. The rest is a routine. Picture taken by Ram Arvind S, in Ooty, in December of 2016.
Page 32 — Poetry — Hope SHRINIDHI VIJAY A ship without an anchor, a song without a tune, the sky without stars, bleeding out my heart, I stood there. Dreaming, in awe, in fear, so lost. “Mother! Who am I, in this unblinking darkness, where am I?” Do I get answers; can you see me here? A pale face, seeking, watching the sky “Mother, I opened my Pandora's box and let my hope fly into that deep abyss. Will my broken bones heal without amiss?” A tiny, tiny voice rumbled into the heavens “Hope is when you read a book; beautiful, breath-taking; reread a different ending. Hope is when a mother looks at her son, as he takes his first steps, finally a run. Hope is when your universe gives you a sign, it's your voice, saying it's time. Hope is when tears flow down, you can't give up, and every tear lights you up. Hope is when through all the wars, through all the pain, a soldier sees his train. Hope is when you are alone, you think, but someone is the muse to your ink. Hope is when the green comes out, after the long winter, the first sprout. Hope is when you feel let down, but heaven won't let you drown. Hope is in love. Hope is now.” Oh, such beautiful, sweet hope of expression In all its splendour and glory, the red hued sky answered to my confession.
