OVERVIEW<br />
Kuwait’s largest mixed use retail, lifestyle<br />
and leisure destination<br />
Al Kout is set to become the largest waterfront landmark and<br />
lifestyle destination in Kuwait. Encompassing six different<br />
experiences, Al Kout, when completed, will become a destination<br />
of choice for residents and visitors alike.<br />
The new Al Kout Mall, combined with the existing Souq Al Kout,<br />
significant for its traditional design, serves as the community<br />
hub of southern Kuwait with its stunning views of Marsa Al Kout,<br />
the state-of-the-art luxurious yacht club and Nag’at Al Kout, the<br />
traditional fishing wharf where fishermen ply their trade. This<br />
unique blend of traditional and modern is the centerpiece of a 1.6<br />
km stretch of immaculate beachfront; Sahel Al Kout, which offers<br />
uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf. Completing the Al Kout<br />
experiences, the award winning 5-star Rotana Hotel has become<br />

GLA Management has signed an agreement with the Azadea Group to open<br />
11 new stores including new-to-market brands. Azadea has unveiled some<br />
of its most recognized brands within the mall across a total leased area of<br />
4,500 sqm. The new mall will be home to Bershka, Calzedonia, I Am, KIKO<br />
Milano, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Stradivarius, Sunglass Hut, Uterque, Zara and<br />
Zara Home.<br />
New brands will be introduced to Kuwaiti residents for the first time which<br />
highlights the uniqueness of the new mall for potential consumers from<br />
neighboring areas. For example, KIKO Milano, Italian cosmetics brand, has<br />
revolutionized the rules of cosmetics and won over the most demanding<br />
beauty addicts.<br />

M.H. Alshaya Co. sign<br />
major leasing deal<br />
In another strategic and key leasing agreement, GLA has signed with leading<br />
retail franchise operator M.H. Alshaya Co. to open 22 apparel, pharmacy, optical<br />
and restaurant outlets in the new Al Kout Mall.<br />
Alshaya’s 75 leading international brands offer shoppers a wide range of<br />
choices across fashion & footwear, food, health & beauty and optics brands.<br />
Christian Wistrom, General Manager – Leasing, GLA Management, said: “We<br />
are delighted to partner with M.H. Alshaya Co. who are recognized as retail<br />
experts in the region. The breadth of brands and quality of service they offer<br />
appeals to the diverse aspirations of Kuwaiti residents who are among some<br />
of the world’s most discerning shoppers.<br />

needs. Azadea Group’s 11 new retail brand concepts will further<br />

Commenting on the new partnership, Azadea Group Country Manager for<br />
Kuwait, Dany Abou Jamra said: “This collaboration with Al Kout Mall embraces<br />
our expansion plans through a great retail space, introducing new<br />
possibilities for exciting lifestyle shopping experiences for customers.”<br />
He also added: “Overall, we are certain that this new destination will only<br />
bring forth successful results, adding more strength to our presence in Kuwait.”<br />
“Al Kout Mall will be fully leased ahead of the project completion date by yearend,<br />
and having M.H. Alshaya on board is an expression of investor confidence<br />
in the project’s potential.”<br />
Under the deal, the 22 household name brands that will join Al Kout Mall’s<br />
growing list of shops, cafes and restaurants, include: Victoria’s Secret, American<br />
Eagle Outfitters, Bath & Body Works, Boots, Claire’s, H&M, Justice, Mac,<br />
Next, P.F Chang’s, Payless ShoeSource, Starbucks, The Body Shop, Top Shop,<br />
VaVaVoom, Vision Express, Mothercare and Foot Locker.<br />

The New Al Kout through its fusion of traditional<br />
architecture and modern contemporary design<br />
will create a landmark destination with timeless<br />
appeal.<br />
The design of the new Al Kout mall acknowledges<br />
and enhances the established street level vernacular<br />
of arcades, warm colored pavers, stone,<br />
street lighting and local landscaping that exists<br />
in the district. A new interpretation of this familiar<br />
architectural vocabulary will span from<br />
the Rotana Hotel to the bustling existing Al Kout<br />
mall, fish market and marina. Emerging above<br />
the tradition-inspired base are modern and iconic<br />
architectural expressions of glass, steel and high<br />
performance materials, forming a dynamic architectural<br />
dialogue that signifies the emergence of<br />
modern Kuwait.<br />
Interior and exterior terraces have been oriented<br />

dining in evening sea breezes with views maximized<br />
toward the Al Kout water feature, Marina<br />
and Gulf waters. The many varied dining opportunities<br />
in the open food court or mall cafes will<br />

BUILDING<br />
AL KOUT MALL<br />
With construction starting in June 2014, the Al<br />
Kout Mall build has been a robust effort from<br />
day one. In that time, the building contractor<br />
has been working around the clock to get Al<br />
Kout Mall ready for its October <strong>2017</strong> opening,<br />
which is currently right on track.<br />
As of now, the construction is at 65%<br />
completion, a huge feat for a building this size,<br />
standing at a total built area of 240,922 m2.<br />
The mall, which has 3 retail levels, and 13<br />
parking levels with a total of 2,341 parking<br />
spaces, stands on a plot area of 33, 251 m 2 .<br />
The construction will be utilizing an impressive<br />
20,000 tons of reinforced steel bars, 155,000<br />
cubic meters of reinforced concrete and 2500<br />
tons of structured steel.<br />
The new Al Kout Mall will also feature an<br />
impressive number of skylights, nine in total,<br />
as well as high ceilings, giving a large open<br />
space feel, helping the shoppers move with<br />
ease and under natural light throughout the<br />
majority of the mall. The materials used in the<br />
build are of the highest quality and durability,<br />
keeping in mind the necessary safety and<br />
fireproofing precautions, while keeping in<br />
mind design and look and feel, so to be always<br />
pleasing to the eye.<br />
