State Historical Museum is situated in<br />
a luxurious Old Russian style building,<br />
located in the heart of Moscow. It<br />
is one of the biggest museums in<br />
the world. Established in 1872 by<br />
a personal decree of Alexander II,<br />
the museum was given the name<br />
Imperial. The State Historical Museum<br />
is surely one of Russia’s treasures,<br />
with more than 5 mln culture and<br />
history artefacts from the ancient<br />
times until modern days. Some of its<br />
most celebrated gems include Viking’s<br />
golden masterpieces, Russian<br />
Emperors’ personal possessions,<br />
and exhibits from Napoleon times.<br />
St.Basil’s Cathedral, the national<br />
symbol of Russia, is also a part of the<br />
collection. In 1990, UNESCO included<br />
St. Basil in the Word Heritage List as<br />
one of the most beautiful monuments.<br />
