From the president 

ov e r t h e c o u r s e of my first year as President 

of the Musical Arts Association, I have often been 

struck by two things: the magnitude of the ambitions 

of The Cleveland Orchestra as an organization, 

artistically and within the community, and the 

importance of teamwork in everything it takes to 

keep this organization at the very pinnacle of artistic 

achievement. 

Not only here in Northeast Ohio but around 

the globe, The Cleveland Orchestra is recognized as 

one of the great orchestras of the world. Yet for us 

to simply sit back and bask in the warmth of the artistic 

accolades risks jeopardizing the future of our 

organization. 

Right now, working together, we need to renew 

our efforts and redouble our energy if we are 

to keep The Cleveland Orchestra on its path of 

achievement. With our music director, Franz 

Welser-Möst, leading the Orchestra artistically at 

the highest level, and our executive director, Gary 

Hanson, directing attention to our goals with a singular 

focus, members of the MAA Board and everyone 

who cherishes this institution need to train 

their efforts on the most pressing matter at hand 

— how this orchestra can remain relevant even as 

society changes all around us. 

During the 2009-10 season, we continued to 

lay the groundwork for change, with diversified programs 

and new ways to communicate with audiences. 

Our challenge is to keep the momentum going. 

We must continue to broaden the Orchestra’s reach, 

upholding our community’s proud tradition of remarkable 

arts institutions that make a memorable 

difference in the lives of its citizens. Each and every 

one of us must take responsibility for continuing 

the Orchestra’s mission. Each of us needs to think 

like a leader, reaching out to everyone we know who 


might also make the continued preeminence 

of The Cleveland Orchestra their own personal goal. 

Times are difficult for Ohioans, but hard 

times help us define ourselves and our priorities. 

The Cleveland Orchestra is Ohio’s most visible and 

active ambassador, providing all Ohioans with a 

tremendous sense of pride as well as fueling the 

economy. As patrons, we are stewards of this remarkable 

entity. We can have no more important 

mission than to provide for its continued success — 

and everything that it radiates out into the greater 

community — in the coming years. 

I am deeply grateful to each member of the 

Board of Trustees for their devoted sharing of time, 

financial resources, and expertise. Let me extend 

special thanks to the members of the Executive 

Committee for their wisdom and guidance in all 

that we have accomplished and prepared for over 

the past year, and to the members of the Musical 

Arts Association of Miami and the European Advisory 

Board for their perspective and counsel in further 

advancing the Orchestra’s reputation and reach. 

This is not an easy time to raise money for a 

not-for-profit institution. The Cleveland Orchestra, 

however, is not just any institution. The Cleveland 

Orchestra is a cultural touchstone for Northeast 

Ohio. Our organization is a piece of living Cleveland 

history that accepts the need to evolve in order 

to continue our storied tradition. Change we must, 

and together, change we will.

From the executive director 

2 0 0 9 / 1 0 was a year of achievement and notable 

events. Most importantly, it was a year in which we 

gave shape to the future of this great institution. 

n o ta b l e e v e n t s 

We began and ended the season at Severance 

Hall with celebratory fundraising events: In September, 

Franz Welser-Möst conducted a special performance 

of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony for a benefit 

event led by the Orchestra’s younger Trustees in 

support of the Community Music Initiative. And 

in May, under the leadership of Norma Lerner, the 

elegant “Severance Celebration” Gala filled the concert 

hall with generous patrons who enjoyed intimate 

performances by the Orchestra’s principal players 

together with percussionist and Fridays@7 curator 

Jamey Haddad. 

For the second consecutive year, one of the 

highlights was our fully staged operatic presentation, 

the second installment in Mozart’s Da Ponte trilogy, 

Così fan tutte. This past season also saw a number of 

important recording projects. In February, Franz led 

a program of music by Richard Wagner recorded for 

Deutsche Grammophon. Mitsuko Uchida continued 

the cycle of live concert recordings of Mozart piano 

concertos with a second installment taped in April 

for release by Decca this fall in Japan and in 2011 

in the United States. Conductor Pierre Boulez led 

programs featuring music of Ravel and Mahler that 

were recorded for DVD and CD release on Deutsche 

Grammophon. 

Under Franz’s direction, the Orchestra furthered 

its growing relationship with the music of 

Anton Bruckner, culminating in August with two 

performances of the composer’s monumental Symphony 

No. 8 which were taped for television and 

DVD. Our growing focus on the Bruckner symphonies 

will reach its apogee in a week-long residency at 

the Lincoln Center Festival in July 2011. 

In June, the Orchestra presented an extraordinary 

performance of 21st-century music commissioned 

under the Daniel R. Lewis Young Composer 

Fellow Program in celebration of the 10th anniversary 

of this important creative endeavor. Matthias 

Pintscher conducted four Lewis fellowship commissions 

by Dalbavie, Botti, Staud, and Pintscher, and 

members of the Orchestra gave an exciting performance 

of Louis Andriessen’s “Workers’ Union” during 

an extended interlude. 


The season saw scores of additional highlights, 

including a long list of noteworthy guest artists, 

residencies and tours, the 2010 Blossom Festival, 

regional performances, and our growing focus on 

educational activities in Cleveland and beyond. Collaborations 

also took center stage, notably with the 

Cleveland Play House’s FusionFest, as well as a set of 

musician-led chamber music initiatives that garnered 

national media attention, including appearances at 

the Happy Dog tavern in Cleveland’s Gordon Square 

Arts District. 

The 2009/10 year also saw news-making of a 

different sort. The collective bargaining between the 

Association and the musicians’ union was protracted 

and challenging for everyone. January 18 saw the 

beginning of a brief work stoppage; we reached 

agreement in the pre-dawn hours of January 19. 

The difficult process pointed up opportunities for 

improving communication and understanding 

among the Board, musicians, and management — 

opportunities that are now being developed with the 

support of all. 

v i s i o n f o r t h e f u t u r e 

In October 2009, the Trustees convened their 

second annual Board Retreat with the objective of 

developing a vision for transforming The Cleveland 

Orchestra by the time of the institution’s Centennial 

in 2018. In the same month, we began to implement 

far-reaching changes onstage. Innovative programs 

like Fridays@7, Musically Speaking, and the Celebrity 

Series, coupled with our return to opera and ballet, 

will serve over time to broaden the Orchestra’s audiences 

and philanthropic base. 

Underlying this collective vision is Franz’s philosophy 

that music-making has to be relevant in people’s 

daily lives and that orchestras have to be relevant 

to their communities. Simply put, for The Cleveland 

Orchestra to be sustainable, we must be relevant. 

As we strive toward greater relevance, it’s valuable 

to remind ourselves that The Cleveland Orchestra 

is already the largest arts organization in the State 

of Ohio. Serving half a million people a year, we 

play a vital role as the State’s most visible and active 

cultural and economic ambassador, and we are fast 

becoming America’s most in-demand orchestra for 

touring and residencies. That’s a lot, but based on our 

vision of the future, there is still much to be done. 

A key component of our future vision was

made public in October 2010, when we unveiled The 

Cleveland Orchestra’s new Center for Future Audiences. 

By 2018, when fully funded and operational, 

the Center will have eliminated the major barriers 

to accessing the Orchestra’s live concert experience 

in Northeast Ohio. With the establishment of 

this Center, we are beginning to research, develop, 

implement, and measure new programs designed 

to achieve ambitious goals. One of those goals is to 

have the youngest audience of any orchestra in the 

country. The creation of the Center is a major step 

toward fulfilling our vision to ensure that The Cleveland 

Orchestra will be here for the next century and 

will be relevant to the entire community. 

Funding for the Center’s activities will be generated 

by a special endowment fund of $60 million. 

The lead gift of $20 million has been pledged by 

Cleveland’s Maltz Family Foundation of the Jewish 

Community Federation. A pledge of this magnitude 

is a vote of confidence in the future of the Orchestra, 

and will be an inspiration to others who are passionate 

about our community. The Maltz Family’s extraordinary 

generosity is deeply appreciated by 

everyone in the Orchestra family. 

As we undertake a campaign to fully endow the 

Center for Future Audiences, we will also seek meaningful 

start-up funding in the form of cash gifts to 

enable the Center to implement programs as early as 

2011. Over the course of the coming year, we will announce 

additional Centers of Excellence with equally 

transformational missions and similar funding models. 

The programs we create within these Centers will 

be built around our strength as a world-class institution 

and focused on the passions of our donors. 

f i n a n c e s a n d f u n d r a i s i n g 

Despite our successes, the Orchestra’s finances 

remain challenging. As you will see in the pages of 

this financial report, we continue to suffer from an 

ongoing structural deficit kept partially at bay by the 

bridge funds raised in 2005. While our endowment 

value has recovered slightly, at just over $100 million, 

it is a seriously inadequate capital foundation for an 

institution of The Cleveland Orchestra’s quality, scale, 

and scope of activities. To be financially stable, an 

endowment of up to seven times our annual operating 

budget, in the range of $300 million, is needed. 

But we are not wringing our hands over the financial 

situation. Instead, we are focusing on trans- 


forming the institution through changes designed to 

make the The Cleveland Orchestra more relevant and, 

in doing so, to inspire extraordinary philanthropy. 

We are well positioned for this effort under the 

fundraising leadership of Dick Bogomolny. Over the 

past year, we have aggressively built our capacity to 

research and solicit donations. With funding from 

The Cleveland Foundation and the Gund Foundation, 

we have built our fundraising capability with an 

expanded professional team and a growing group of 

dedicated and energized Trustees who will personally 

solicit major gifts as part of a comprehensive campaign 

to build the endowment. The fundraising feasibility 

is impressive: among current patrons, more 

than 9,000 have the philanthropic capability over a 

five-year period to make a gift to The Cleveland Orchestra 

of $100,000. Within that number, almost 

1,000 have the capability to make charitable gifts of 

seven figures and more. 

To be worthy of such philanthropy, we are committed 

to maintaining what is great about The Cleveland 

Orchestra, while undertaking changes to make 

the institution ever more valuable and relevant to the 

communities we serve. 

I close with some special words of thanks to 

Dennis LaBarre and our Musical Arts Association 

Trustees; to Daniel Lewis and the Board of the Musical 

Arts Association of Miami; and to Herbert Kloiber 

and the members of our European Advisory Board. 

Working alongside our dedicated Board members 

are hundreds of volunteers who serve the institution 

every day as fundraisers, committee members, chorus 

members, ushers, and in many other roles. Our 

Trustees’ and volunteers’ passion for the institution 

and for the community is truly inspiring to me. 

I also thank the dedicated staff and wonderful 

musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra, for their 

thousands of hours of tireless work in pursuit of 

ever-greater achievements. And finally, my deepest 

appreciation to our extraordinary artistic leader, 

Franz Welser-Möst, without whom the excellence toward 

which we collectively strive would not be possible.

From September to the beginning 

of June, the Orchestra performed 

71 subscription concerts and 30 other 

concerts at Severance Hall. These 

included several new series, including 

Fridays@7 and Celebrity, as well 

as standard symphonic concerts and a 

fully staged opera presentation. Total 

paid admissions for these 101 performances 

was 129,064. The Orchestra 

also performed 3 regional concerts, 

in Oberlin, Akron, and Kent. Benefit 

events surrounding concerts and performances, 

including the “Severance 

Celebration” in May, raised $763,000. 

An important element of the 

Orchestra’s 2009-10 season was the 

launch of a Community Music Initiative, 

designed to make it possible for 

more people of all ages in Northeast 

Ohio than ever before to connect 

with music. The ongoing Community 

Music Initiative incorporates 

an array of longstanding education 

and community offerings such as the 

Orchestra’s Education Concerts (attended 

by 16,000 students during 

the season) with new programs and 

events, including performances by the 

Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst’s 

direction at Cleveland Metropolitan 

School District public high schools. 

With free public concerts such as the 

21st annual “Star-Spangled Spectacular” 

celebrating Independence 

Day on Public Square and the Martin 

Luther King Jr. Community Concert 

2009-10 was a year filled with performances, 

community events, and educational presentations.

Beyond the Orchestra’s own concerts, 

there were 116 rental events at 

Severance Hall in 2009-10, hosting 

over 67,700 attendees. 

miami residency 

The Cleveland Orchestra’s Miami 

Residency continued to thrive 

in 2010. In addition to three weekends 

of subscription concerts, the 

Orchestra achieved a new record of 

17 formal partnerships with Miami- 

Dade organizations, and explored 

new concert formats with “Beethoven 

with a Twist,” combining casual dress 

and a post-concert classical cabaret. 

The Musical Arts Association of 

Miami, the trustee group responsible 

for fundraising for the Orchestra in 

Miami, continued to be a catalyst for 

Miami-Dade’s growing international 

stature for excellence in orchestral 

performance and music education.

Franz Welser-Möst leading the Orchestra 

in a performance at Hialeah- 

Miami Lakes High School. 

other residencies and tours 

Domestically, Music Director 

Franz Welser-Möst led the Orchestra 

in a concert at Carnegie Hall in 

May that literally received a review 

of “Wow!” from the New York Times. 

Welser-Möst and The Orchestra also 

undertook two overseas tours and 

residencies. In October-November 

2009, they performed across Europe 

and presented their fourth Residency 

at Vienna’s Musikverein. And in August 

2010, they performed 9 concerts 

at a series of European summer festivals, 

including an ongoing biennial 

Lucerne Festival Residency. 

blossom 

The Orchestra’s 2010 Blossom 

Festival featured 19 concerts across 10 

weekends from early July to the beginning 

of September. Average paid attendance 

was 4,712 per concert. Total paid 

admissions were 89,533. The Festival 

ended on Labor Day Weekend with two 

evenings of collaborative performances 

featuring the Joffrey Ballet performing 

with The Cleveland Orchestra. 

The summer also featured 21 

non-Festival concert performances 

and 7 other events hosted by Live Nation, 

which operates Blossom Music 

Center for the Musical Arts Association. 

Attendance at these concerts totaled 

242,377 for an average of 11,542 

per concert.

NOTE A 

Summary of Significant Accounting Policies 

Organization: The core purpose of the musical Arts Association (the 

Association) is to provide inspirational experience by serving the art of 

music at the highest levels of artistic excellence. The Association operates 

The Cleveland Orchestra; owns and operates Severance Hall, located in 

Cleveland, Ohio; and owns blossom music Center (bmC), situated on 800 

acres of land in Summit County, Ohio. 

Basis of Accounting: The Association’s accounting records are maintained 

on the accrual basis of accounting. 

Basis of Presentation: The Association records all unconditional 

promises to give (pledges) as receivables and revenue in the period made 

and classifies such contributions into three net asset classes based upon 

external (donor) imposed restrictions. A description of the three net asset 

classes follows: 

Unrestricted Net Assets — net assets that are not subject to any donor 

imposed restrictions. 

Temporarily Restricted Net Assets — net assets subject to donor imposed 

restrictions that will be met by actions of the Association and/or 

the passage of time. 

Permanently Restricted Net Assets — net assets subject to donor 

imposed restrictions that will neither be met or otherwise removed by 

actions of the Association nor the passage of time. 

Land, Buildings, and Equipment: Severance Hall opened in 1931 

and is located on land leased from Case Western Reserve university. The 

Association has a 99-year lease, which expires in 2029 and is renewable 

for additional 99-year periods in perpetuity. The lease (including the option 

period) provides for a nominal rental charge and requires the Association to 

pay all taxes and assessments that may be levied on the premises. blossom 

music Center opened in 1968 and is situated on 800 acres of land in 

Summit County. The Association owns the land and all buildings thereon. 

purchased land, buildings and equipment are stated at cost. depreciation 

is computed on a straight-line basis over the estimated useful lives of 

the respective assets, averaging 20 years for land improvements, 40 

years for buildings, and 5 to 20 years for equipment, using a half-year life 

convention in the year of acquisition. Routine repairs and maintenance 

and individual capital expenditures of less than five hundred dollars are 

expensed as incurred. The Association’s music library and archives and 

its equity in the medical Center Company are carried at no value in the 

financial statements. 

Collective Bargaining Agreements: The Association’s orchestra 

musicians, stagehands, ticket sellers, and service employees are covered by 

collective bargaining agreements. The Cleveland federation of musicians, 

Local no. 4 current collective bargaining agreement expires on September 2, 

2012. The Service Employees international union Local no. 3, AfL-CiO collective 

bargaining agreement expires may 31, 2011, The Stage Employees 

Local no. 27 of The international Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employee’s 

agreement expires August 31, 2011, and The Treasurer’s and Ticket Sellers 

union no. 756, AfL-CiO agreement expires december 31, 2012. 

NOTE B 

Endowment 

because the endowment assets include funds derived originally from 

permanently restricted contributions, management thereof is subject to 

Ohio State law. in July 1996, the 121st general Assembly of the State of 

Ohio passed Substitute House bill no. 391, which became law effective 

October 1, 1996. under the provisions of this bill as interpreted by the 

board and legal counsel, the Association is permitted to expend the gains, 

both realized and unrealized, on its permanently restricted endowment 

contributions unless specifically restricted by the donor. Expenditure of 

such gains includes those accumulated prior to October 1, 1996. 

Effective June 1, 2009, Ohio’s version of the uniform prudent management 

of institutional funds Act (upmifA) became law. The Association 

has interpreted upmifA as requiring the preservation of the fair value 

of the original gift as of the gift date of the donor-restricted endowment 

funds absent explicit donor stipulations to the contrary. As a result, the 

Association classifies as permanently restricted net assets (a) the original 

value of gifts donated to the permanent endowment, (b) the original value 

of subsquent gifts to the permanent endowment, and (c) accumulations 

to the permanent endowment made in accordance with the direction of 

the applicable donor gift instrument at the time the accumulation is added 

to the fund. 

The following describes the Association’s classes of endowment net assets: 

unrestricted endowment net assets consist of funds which have been 

designated by the board of Trustees to function as endowment. The 

classification includes life income instruments, comprised of charitable 

gift annuities and pooled income funds, which are recorded at 

their present value based upon estimated future payments to and 

the life expectancy of the beneficiaries. it also includes gains on 

permanently restricted endowment net assets, other than charitable 

perpetual trusts, for which the use of income is not governed by 

donor imposed restrictions. 

Temporarily restricted endowment net assets are subject to donor 

imposed restrictions that will be met by actions of the Association 

and/or the passage of time. This classification includes all unspent 

gains on permanently restricted endowment net assets for which the 

use of income is governed by donor imposed restrictions. 

permanently restricted endowment net assets are subject to donor 

imposed restrictions that require the assets be permanently maintained. 

Certain of these net assets are maintained by the Association 

and others, charitable perpetual trusts, are in the control of third 

party trustees or administrators. The Association records its interest 

in charitable perpetual trusts at its pro-rata share of the fair market 

value of the assets. 

The Association’s annual draw is based on a total return philosophy, and is 

calculated as the prior fiscal year’s draw amount weighted 70%, plus 6% 

of the prior fiscal year’s average quarterly endowment market value net of 

investment fees weighted 30%, plus 6% of the current fiscal year’s endowment 

cash contributions pro-rated based on the fiscal quarter received. 

because the amount drawn in a given year is heavily weighted by the 

market value of the endowment in prior years, the percentage drawn of 

a given year’s endowment market value often varies from the 6% draw 

factor used in the calculation. 

NOTE C 

Related Party Transaction – Miami Residency 

The musical Arts Association of miami (mAA-miami) was formed in 2005 

and obtained its tax exempt status as a 501c(3) organization in 2008. 

mAA-miami, which operates under its own separate board of Trustees and 

management from the Association, exists solely for the benefit and support 

of The Cleveland Orchestra’s miami Residency. in accordance with fAS 

136, Transfers of Assets to a not-for-profit Organization or Charitable Trust 

that Raises or Holds Contributions for Others, the Association recorded 

a receivable equal to the net assets of mAA-miami on the Statement of 

financial position of $1,675 and $1,298 at June 30, 2010 and 2009, 

respectively.

NOTE E 

Cuyahoga Falls Concerts, Inc. Agreement 

Effective november 1, 1999, the Association entered into an amended and 

restated 15 year agreement with Cuyahoga falls Concerts, inc. (CfCi) (the 

“Agreement”). The Agreement replaced the one the Association entered into 

effective march 1, 1990, with mCA Concerts, inc. (later known as universal 

Concerts, inc.). CfCi will operate blossom music Center (bmC) and will 

book, promote and present special attractions, upon which it will pay the 

Association annual rentals based upon a percentage of CfCi’s gross receipts 

from bmC special attractions. upon signing of the Agreement, CfCi granted 

the Association $6,000 to fund future Association operations. This grant has 

been recorded as temporarily restricted revenue and is being amortized 

into unrestricted revenue on a straight-line basis over the 15-year term of 

the Agreement beginning in fiscal 2001. The obligations of CfCi under the 

Agreement are guaranteed by HOb (House of blues) Entertainment, inc.

NOTE F 

Pension and Other Retirement Benefits 

The Association has a noncontributory defined benefit pension plan 

covering substantially all employees. The benefits are based on years of 

service and the employee’s compensation level. The Association’s funding 

policy is to contribute annually at least the minimum amount required 

by the Employee Retirement income Security Act of 1974. Contributions 

are intended to provide not only for benefits attributed to service to date 

but also for those expected to be earned in the future. in addition to the 

defined benefit pension plan, the Association provides executive supplemental 

retirement benefits, which are included as accrued benefits on the 

statement of financial position.

The portion of the defined benefit pension plan covering hall and office 

employees was frozen effective April 1, 2009. At that date, a new contributory 

403(b) plan was established. Association contributions to the 

403(b) plan for hall and office employees for the year ended June 30, 

2010, were $312. 

per the terms of the collective bargaining agreement with the Cleveland 

federation of musicians, Local no. 4 (union), the portion of the defined 

benefit pension plan covering these employees was frozen effective August 

1, 2009. Effective August 1, 2009, the Association began contributing 

a percentage of the musician’s minimum weekly salary to the American 

federation of musicians and Employers’ pension fund (Afm-Epf). per 

agreement between the union and the Association, effective march 30, 

2010 the Association withdrew from and ceased participation in the Afm- 

Epf with respect to all contributions currently provided under the collective 

bargaining agreement, and no contributions shall be due to the Afm-Epf 

under the collective bargaining agreement after that date. Assocation 

contributions to the Afm-Epf for the year ended June 30, 2010, were 

$521. Effective April 1, 2010, the Association began contributing a percentage 

of musicians’ minimum weekly salary into the 403(b) plan, with those 

contributions totaling $207 for the year ended June 30, 2010. 

NOTE G — Debt 

On december 1, 2003, the Association issued $28,150 of County of 

Cuyahoga, Ohio Economic development Revenue Refunding bonds, 

Series 2003, due december 1, 2028 (Series 2003 bonds). no principal 

payments are required prior to the maturity date. proceeds from this issue 

were used to redeem the County of Cuyahoga, Ohio Economic development 

Revenue bonds, Series 1998, due April 1, 2028. The Series 1998 

bonds were called and paid in full in february 2004. 

The Series 2003 bonds were issued and continue to function in a floating 

rate mode, with the interest rate re-set on a weekly basis. from July 1, 

2009 to June 30, 2010, the interest rate for the Series 2003 bonds ranged 

between 0.60% and .90%. 

The Series 2003 bonds are supported by a financial guaranty insurance 

policy which expires on december 1, 2028. in connection with the 

issuance of the bond insurance policy, the Association agreed to certain 

covenants, including limits on additional indebtedness, ratios of unrestricted 

cash and investments to outstanding debt, and periodic financial reporting. 

These covenants were met for the year ended June 30, 2010. 

The Association maintains agreements with Keybank and pnC bank that 

extend through december 31, 2010 and April 26, 2011, respectively, 

providing unsecured short-term lines of credit aggregating $10,000. There 

were no outstanding balances or commitment fees under these agreements 

at June 30, 2010 and 2009. 

NOTE H 

Cost of Fundraising 

The total cost of annual fundraising, $2,480 and $2,461 in 2010 and in 

2009, respectively, is allocated to operating, capital and endowment activities 

based, in part, upon contributions, both cash and pledges, obtained 

during the fiscal year.

— endowed funds establish permanent investments and provide 

an ongoing source of support for the Orchestra, allowing us to be less 

vulnerable to economic cycles. 

— term endowments are established to be spent over a specific 

time period, after which all or part of the funds become available. 

— capital gifts support renovation costs for buildings and facilities, 

helping to ensure that Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center 

remain among the finest performance venues in the country. 

— legacy giving, including bequests, living trusts, life insurance 

policies, retirement plans, and life income gifts, can provide a donor 

with considerable tax savings as well as an income for life, while also 

providing continual income for the Orchestra. 

— annual gifts are a significant source of funding that helps close 

the gap between ticket revenue and expenses each year. The annual 

gifts of thousands of individuals and organizations help ensure each 

season’s artistic achievements and the day-to-day success of ongoing 

programs.

times the annual operating cost of
