THE COMPANY<br />

International Fashion Limited was established in 2015 and since then the <strong>company</strong> has opened four stores in<br />

Bay Street Tourist Complex and two others in the PAMA Shopping Complex. International Fashion Limited is<br />

managed by David Debono as the Chief Executive Officer; his board of directors includes George Muscat, Paul<br />

Camilleri and Cliona Muscat.<br />

PHILOSOPHY<br />

The core business strategy of IF &Co Ltd is to combine exceptional customer service with quality, stylish and<br />

value-for-money merchandise. We shall provide an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, offering<br />

them a wide selection of fashionable, figure-flattering clothing. We shall ingrain in our sales staff that their<br />

primary job purpose is not to sell to customers – BUT – to assist them to BUY!


TARGET CUSTOMER<br />

Our target market are both Men and Women who are between 25 to 55 years old with an average-to-high<br />

income. For both, style is a timeless value. She is stylish and chic, she’s practical and values comfort. Always on<br />

the go and likes to feel and look good. She enjoys shopping and renewing her wardrobe. He is urban, elegant<br />

and stylish looking for the right clothes at the right price for every occasion. As can be seen from the<br />

demographics below, we have a local potential customer base of circa 166,000. Being in Bay Street Complex<br />

which annually receives circa 2.4 million visitors a year, our potential target market offers great scope to<br />

achieve the required results as stipulated in our financial plans.

George Muscat<br />

George Muscat is a director and one of the<br />

ultimate beneficial holders<br />

of the equity share capital of<br />

Bay Street Holdings Ltd which owns<br />

and operates the Bay Street Tourist Complex.<br />

He is also a director of Bay Street Company<br />

which owns and operates the be.HOTEL<br />

through its subsidiary Bay Street Hotel Complex Ltd.<br />

George is also the Chairman of GAP<br />

Developments Ltd his property development<br />

and construction business which he started<br />

in the late seventies. Originally focusing on<br />

building single residential units, he later<br />

embarked on larger and more ambitious<br />

projects, including shopping complexes and<br />

up-market luxury multiple residential towers.<br />

George Muscat is also a shareholder and director of various<br />

other companies in the construction and real estate industry.<br />

Paul Camilleri<br />

Paul Camilleri is a director and one of the<br />

Paul Camilleri is an established entrepreneur<br />

with a remarkable track record within the<br />

industry. He directly owns various major<br />

projects in Malta including another established<br />

hotel in a prime tourist locality and other<br />

commercial and residential properties across<br />

the Island. He holds various other positions both<br />

as shareholder and director in other<br />

companies involved in property development.


Management Profile<br />

David Debono – Group Chief Executive Officer<br />

David Debono commenced his career within the hospitality and leisure industry in the<br />

early 1990’s and throughout the first years occupied senior management positions in<br />

various departments. He held the post of Group General Manager for a <strong>company</strong><br />

operating two hotels and a wellness centre in the northern part of the Island. During<br />

this time, he also achieved Malta’s first ‘Tourism Authority Quality Cert<strong>if</strong>ication’ for one<br />

of the hotels. David joined a leading five-star property In October 2007 as Operations<br />

Director and was later appointed Director of Business Development responsible for the<br />

formulation and implementation of the growth strategy for the hotel’s hospitality and<br />

retail units. He joined Baystreet holdings Ltd. in April 2011 as Chief Executive Officer,<br />

focusing primarily on the <strong>company</strong>’s business development strategy and corporate<br />

development.<br />

David obtained post graduate qual<strong>if</strong>ications covering Operations, Strategic Management, Human Resources,<br />

Finance and Marketing from Henley Management College in 2008. In 2011 he received his master’s degree in<br />

Business Administration from Henley business school (University of Reading), specializing in corporate and<br />

business strategy. David is currently conducting further post graduate research at doctoral level on leadership<br />

and competitive strategy.


Cliona Muscat – Commercial Director Retail<br />

Cliona joined Bay Street early in 2015 after working in the retail indsutry for some years to<br />

head the Retail Division of the Group which at that time had four Stores representing popular<br />

brands such as women’secret, Cortefiel, Gagliardi, Ben Sherman, Scotch & Soda and Nudie<br />

Jeans.<br />

Since becoming the Commercial Director, Cliona has managed to open three other outlets<br />

two of which represent prestigous brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste and Gant.<br />

Cliona is part of the Expansion Team to source and open other retail units in Sicily and Italy.

THE FRANCHISES<br />

Bortex<br />

The family-owned Bortex Group (the name is an anagram derived from ‘Borg’ and ‘textiles’) has been in the<br />

business of suiting manfacturing since 1964. Founder Salvatore ‘Sunny’ Borg launched the firm, specializing in<br />

men’s suits, jackets and trousers, whilst also being renowned for manufacturing for other labels of well-known<br />

and high <strong>profile</strong> customers from around the world. The Borg family started Gagliardi based on the founder’s<br />

nickname and l<strong>if</strong>e story.<br />

Further along the years Bortex expanded its retail venture by representing top brands such as Lacoste, Ralph<br />

Lauren and Gant.<br />

International Fashion Ltd partnered with Bortex in 2014 with its first Bortex store at Bay Street Complex for fine<br />

suiting. This store is the largest Bortex store at over 740 square metres. In 2016, a second store was opened at<br />

Bay Street Complex to cater for women and children. Bortex Women & Kids, represents high-end brands such<br />

as, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Gant and Timberland.<br />

Later in 2016, International fashion launched the third opening for the Bortex brand by investing in a 350-square<br />

meter store, selling both Gagliardi and high end brands in the newly opened Pama Shopping Village in the<br />

north of Malta.

Grupo Cortefiel<br />

Founded in Madrid in 1880, the brand is now present in over 88 countries and has over 2,136 points of sale.<br />

Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield and Women’Secret are the four brands that make up Grupo Cortefiel,<br />

which also owns F<strong>if</strong>ty Factory, a chain of outlet stores. Each one has its own design team and a customeroriented<br />

sales and management network.<br />

Distribution is organised through a network of logistics centres at the Aranjuez platform in Madrid. The<br />

<strong>company</strong> also has international buying offices in Spain, Hong Kong and India.<br />

Grupo Cortefiel’s consolidated expansion policy includes the opening of directly operated stores and<br />

franchises. The direct management system is implemented mainly in Europe, whilst the franchise system is the<br />

primary vehicle for international expansion.<br />

Skilled professionals of more than 20 nationalities work to ensure excellence in all the Company’s products and<br />

In August 2016, International Fashion Ltd was awarded the recognition plaque by Gruppo Cortefiel for the<br />

success of its second opening in less than a year during 2015.


Cortefiel<br />

The history of Cortefiel dates back to 1880, when the Garcia Quiros brothers inherited a haberdashery store in<br />

Madrid. In 1945 the <strong>company</strong> underwent a complete change of direction, focusing on the world of tailoring<br />
