Get Everyone Together
When it comes to businesses with
a number of offices spread across
various locations, the benefits of
getting everyone in the same room
together are obvious. Colleagues
can catch up, share updates, discuss
situations and exchange advice, or
simply just put a face to a name.
However, that does not mean a
business with one office and a
relatively small workforce cannot
benefit. Even if employees sit next
to each other every day, it can be
hugely effective to bring them to a
location that is completely detached
from work, away from computers
and telephones, where they can
communicate frankly and without
distraction.
Make Friends and Unwind
Considering how much of our
lives we spend together as work
colleagues, it is often amazing
just how little we actually know
about each other. In busy working
environments, there is rarely even a
spare minute to ask how someone’s
weekend was, let alone discuss
their life story. Holding an event,
especially a social event, allows staff
to relax in each other’s company
and talk about something other
than work. This will help them to
build relationships and eventually
cross over from being colleagues to
being friends.
It’s a Two-Way Street
Your staff are not the only ones
that stand to benefit. An internal
event is also an excellent way for
you to learn about your employees.
Hosting an informal get together
away from the office not only gives
them the opportunity to voice their
best ideas on areas of the business,
but it also breaks down barriers
between them and management.
This leads to more approachable
bosses, which in turn makes for a
much more honest and comfortable
working environment.
Make it Happen
There are so many benefits to
regular internal conferences and
events and every single one, in some
way or another, leads to better
productivity as a business.
With this in mind, can you really
afford not to?
It is easier, and cheaper than you’d
think to hold an internal event,
with a range of venue options
available in the local area. By far
the most effective of venues are
those that are a little bit different.
Your conference or event will then
become a real experience for your
staff - a date that they will truly look
forward to.
A prime example is Newmarket
Racecourses, who are currently
offering a variety of excellent deals
including half-price room hire and
discounted hospitality on selected
summer dates. Speak to a member
of the dedicated Conference &
Events team today to find out more
about these fantastic offers.
