Hey There!
So let’s say you’ve gotten all, if not most of the décor elements decided
upon for your dream wedding. You’ve pinned til your heart’s desire, all of
the inspiration on Pinterest, you’ve booked your venue, purchased your
dress, decided on your theme, selected your color scheme and have the
vision for your big day pretty darn nailed-down! Now what? Where do you
start to begin gathering all of the details you now need to turn your vision
into a reality on your wedding day?
Right here! Yep, this is where you start. In this issue, we’re going to share
with you our favorite resources for acquiring all of the wedding décor
elements you will need. Whether you have DIY projects all lined up or you
are planning to rent your décor, or you’re planning for a combination of
both, we have a list of resources for you to look through and get you
pointed in the right direction!
Ready? Get to scrolling (or flipping) and happy planning!

So Many Options
The great news is that you’ve got so many options for creating or finding the
wedding décor you need to create the wedding you envision. You have
options for purchasing from local resources or online resources and then there
is always the option to rent goods instead.
When deciding on what to purchase and what to rent, always try to be
mindful of what you will do with any crafted or purchased items after your
wedding. Our best suggestion is to only buy and make stuff you think you
will have a use for after the wedding. If you decide to go it the DIY route, try
to keep your projects held to pieces that you would love to have in your home
or yard after the wedding. Otherwise, it may be very well worth your time,
effort, and money to just go ahead and rent the pieces that you really don’t
need or even want later.
Whichever way you are leaning, let’s take a closer look at the ways in which
you can begin to start gathering your décor items, shall we?

Surf the Web for Epic Wedding
Decor Supplies
If you have a list of DIY projects, any of the online resources on the
next page will serve you well! All of the websites listed below will
give you an ample selection of just about any type of wedding
decor you can imagine!
Word of Caution: Be sure to order from these suppliers early in your
planning process. First and foremost, you'll want to be sure you give
yourself plenty of time to complete your projects. Additionally, if
something arrives and you decide it's just not right, you'll have time
to return the items and continue your search for something that
will work better for you.
Shopping online will give you a huge amount of selection to choose
from, so give yourself plenty of time to research what's available
and what will work best for you. Best practice would be to search
for specific items and then price-match across multiple resources to
get the very best deal!

Try These Websites!
www.lightinthebox.com
www.orientaltrading.com
www.save-on-crafts.com
www.theweddingoutlet.com
www.efavormart.com
And our personal favorite: www.etsy.com
We love Etsy because you can support artisans selling both vintage and
hand-crafted goods! Etsy will give you the most unique and
one-of-a-kind types of decor!
(You can even narrow your search down to local artisans; win/win!)

Supplies & Ready-to-Use Decor
Hobby Lobby, Michaels or Jo-Ann Fabrics will offer you a
wealth of options for DIY supplies or ready-to-use decor.
Any one of these stores can help get you all of the
individual components to make your decor. From display
table decor, escort card displays, table numbers, guest
books and favors, you name it! There are so many amazing
craft supplies packed into these stores that you will easily
be able to find just about everything you need.
These are also great stores to pick up ready to go pieces like
candle holders, signs, bottles, etc. If you haven't yet decided
on the details you are wanting, just browse around any one
of these stores and you are guaranteed to be inspired!
The benefit to shopping locally is being able to see
something up-close, feel it, and determine if it will work for
you. And you can always check multiple stores to find a
variety of goods!

USED STUFF: MAKE IT YOURS
So here are some options for finding goods on the cheap that you
can either put some work into to make them all yours or you
can use them as-is and yay, someone has already done all of
the work for you!
Thrift Stores!
Great places to search for vintage china, tea cups, silver
serviceware, and even furniture! Now we deal in furniture rentals
but if you are super creative and have plenty of time, you can
pick-up some pretty shabby pieces that can be painted and
refinished to your liking.
Craigslist
Search for "Wedding Decor" and you'll find plenty of newly
married couples now trying to get rid of all of their DIY decor. Take
advantage of their need to unload and score pieces you don't have
to do anything with; ready-made decor!

If you have a dream, you can spend
a lifetime studying, planning, and
getting ready for it. What you should
be doing is getting started.
Planners Have Got the Goods!
If you are working with a planner, talk to them
about any decor items they have available for your
use. Quite often, planners will have their own
collection of small decor items that you may be
able to tap into! Just one more benefit of working
with a professional planner!

R E N T I T !
What's Ours is Yours!
Rentals, now we’re talkin’! Okay yeah, it’s our specialty so of course we’re all
about renting what you can to relieve the stress of gathering, making, and
refinishing all those details yourself. There are companies like ours that have a
lot to offer in the way of unique furniture and one-of-a-kind décor items. Stuff
you probably don’t have a use for after the wedding or stuff that would take
you a bunch of time and money to find and then fix-up to make it yours.
Fancy or simple, a grouping of upholstered furniture is absolutely perfect for
cocktail hour or for giving your guests a quiet and comfy place to escape to
during the reception. And don’t forget details like mismatched chairs instead of
the standard rentals to make your ceremony and/or reception memorable for
both you and your guests! Antique furniture is a must for any display table
you can imagine; wherever you need a table for your cake, guest book, gifts,
etc., an old dresser, vanity or buffet can be used and will instantly add
character. There is so much out there to pick from, so save yourself some stress
and let the experts handle some of these details; we’re always excited to help
couples transition their visions to reality!

IN CLOSING
Whatever degree you plan to do-it-yourself when it comes to your
wedding decor, there are so many valuable resources out there to
find exactly what you need to fulfill the vision you have for your
really big day! There are experts available too who would love to
help you pull all of the details together. Whether you need a little or
a lot of help; we're all here for you! Our hope is that this issue of our
little magazine, along with the other 2 issues in this series on
Wedding Design has been of some help to you! Happy Planning!
