safe and fun environment. The group dates with age ranges are below:
Peer Group Network
The Peer Group Network is made up of a number of groups run by and
for people experiencing mental health difficulties. ‘Peer Volunteers’ receive
training and ongoing support to help them run groups, which aim to
improve confidence and reduce isolation. Groups can be about having
fun, making friends, moral support, sharing skills or learning new ones!
Farewell to Claire: we recently said a fond farewell to Claire Blackburn
who managed the Peer Group Network for seven years. A lot has
changed since Claire started the project but the fact that the network is
thriving and two new groups have begun just in the last few months is a
testament to her work and tireless dedication. We will miss her humour
and enthusiasm very much and wish her every success in the future.
Yoga group: this group is on a break until further notice. A new yoga
teacher will be starting at some point very soon (dates to be confirmed).
RB Mind Volunteer Training Workshops
We have two workshops coming up: ‘Boundaries and Assertiveness’ and
‘Equalities’. On 26 April, we look at how boundaries work in relationships
and how to apply this to different types of volunteer roles. On 19 May, we
examine what is meant by the term equalities and provide an introduction
to the Equalities Act 2010. The workshops are open to all our volunteers.
Please book a place by emailing yvonne.lentge@rbmind.org.
