Dear Friends,
WLNC 2016 was held between 27 -29 May, in Shanghai. Being the most attended couse in our field, 1024 attendee,
883 of whom being neuroendovascular physicians and 141 industry members from 48 countries honored/graced
WLNC course this year including 123 grantees by CREF. We are thankful to all contributing centers, the very well-known
panelists/discussants, sponsoring companies and all the attendees for making this event a great success.
WLNC 2016 was, as always, a very intense, full-range live course with endovascular treatment of 28 complex lesions in 26
patients from ISTANBUL, BUENOS AIRES, SHANGHAI, LIMOGES, KOBE and BEIJING, which were shown and concurrently
discussed by the very experienced and attentive panelists/discussants from all over the world with the additional
companion cases.
This year, many intracranial aneurysms were treated with variable techniques as indicated including different flowdiverters
with different features and pros/cons as well as intrasaccular devices as Web device, PCanvas in addition
to stent/balloon assisted coiling. The operators took advantage of different liquid embolic agents in the occlusion
of pial and dural arteriovenous malformations, as necessary. The pial AVM was removed successfully following near
complete occlusion with same day surgery. Transvenous cerebral AVM embolization was of great interest with its
successful result of complete occlusion. Spinal vascular malformation treatment was within the scope. Intracranial and
extracranial revascularization treatments were performed with varible techniques. Stroke panel of very experienced
interventionalists covered all the controversies in regard to current acute stroke management.
The philosopy of our meeting is persistent with ‘all’ live cases accompanied by open discussion and with its turn around
the world, from one continent to the other each year. We are very happy to announce that Los Angeles will be the host
city for WLNC 2017.
We will look forward to having all specialists of our field who are interested in seeing and discussing thoroughly the
complex cases with the full range of device availability in L.A in May 2017.
Looking forward to seeing you in Los Angeles...
Sincerely,
