While The Troubadours’<br />

four studio albums – the<br />

most recent of which<br />

debuted at number three<br />

on Billboard’s country<br />

chart – sold-out venues,<br />

and tour stops from<br />

Denver to Thomasville,<br />

the band manages to<br />

exist mostly unaffected<br />

by the slick and polished<br />

big music world of Los<br />

Angeles or Nashville.<br />

Perhaps, in part, because<br />

The Troubadours remain<br />

physically and spiritually<br />

rooted in Oklahoma.<br />

Deeply Rooted<br />

Edwards, along with the<br />

other members of the<br />

band, singer and guitarist<br />

Evan Felker, Fiddler<br />

Kyle Nix, guitarist Ryan<br />

Engleman and drummer<br />

Gabe Pearson, all agreed<br />

early on that they would<br />

keep eastern Oklahoma as<br />

their home base.<br />

“Why leave when we<br />

can tour a different<br />

direction every week from<br />

Oklahoma and have a<br />

six-hour head start on<br />

the guys from Austin<br />

or Nashville?” Edwards<br />

asks. “I don’t know why<br />

more bands aren’t living<br />
