Last year she had to remove herself from the
show due to illness and if there any example
of a person “Returning with Revenge” that will
be the words to describe the 2016 National
Queen show winner Samantha Francis.
As the MC announced the winner of the
various categories, it was as if the name
Samantha Francis was on repeat. She won
every category: Best Interview! Best Talent!
Best Swim Wear! Best Costume! Ms Evening
Wear and Best Final Question.
“Clean Sweep,” someone shouted from the
crowd as MC Lexan Fletcher announced that
Ms St George was the winner with a total of
1107 points. Hundreds in the stadium stood up
in standing ovation and clapped as the 2015
winner placed the crown on the head the 2016
winner.
Emotions took over as she achieved her goal with
a record setting performance. This is the first time in
history a national queen show contestant captured
all the category titles. “I feel happy,” she said with a
smile on her face that indicated “I am glad it’s over!”
In second position was Kerryne James - Ms St
John who scored 931.5 points while in third position
was Ms Eslyn Blair who represented Carriacou and
Petite Martinique. The other contestants were: Ms
St Andrew’s – Makeba Roberts; Ms St David - Ruth
Bailey; Ms St Patrick - Kahdija Logie and Ms St.
Mark Akada Lewis.
