1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that<br />
appeared in dgMarket, issue of 31 st January 2012.<br />
2. The Government of Botswana has received a loan from the International Bank for<br />
Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of Integrated Transport<br />
Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the<br />
Contract for Supply and Delivery of Assorted Information and Communication<br />
Technology Equipment Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Bidding will be governed by the World<br />
Bank’s eligibility rules and procedures.<br />
3. The Ministry of Transport and Communications now invites sealed bids from<br />
eligible and qualified bidders for the Supply and Delivery of Assorted Information<br />
and Communication Technology Equipment Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.<br />

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)<br />
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans<br />
and IDA Credits, dated May 2004, revised October 2006 and May 2010, and is open<br />
to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.<br />
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding<br />
Documents at the address below from 08:00 to 12:45 Hours and 13:45 to 16:30<br />
Hours, local time, from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.<br />
Qualifications requirements include: being in possession of Audited accounts for the<br />
last 3 years, proof of availability of funds or credit line, minimum two (2) years in the<br />
overall experience of the firm in the supply of similar goods and related services in<br />
similar conditions, annual sales of at least twice the estimated requirements indicated<br />
for the lot for which bids are offered during any of the past three years in similar<br />
conditions, capability to complete the supply within the delivery period specified and<br />
availability in the Botswana of after sales services. A margin of preference for certain<br />
goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided<br />
in the Bidding Document.<br />
6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested<br />
bidders upon payment of a non refundable fee of Five Hundred and Sixty Botswana<br />
Pula (BWP560.00) or Fifty United States Dollars (USD50.00). The method of<br />
payment will be Cash or Bank Certified Cheque. Should the Bidding Documents be<br />
required to be sent by express mail the applicant will clearly indicate the delivery<br />
address and pay an extra BWP140.00 for postage within Botswana or USD20.00 for<br />
postage outside the country.<br />
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 08:00 hours local time on 6th<br />
June 2013. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids<br />
will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in<br />
person at the address below at 08:00 hours, local time, on 6th June 2013.<br />
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of not less than of 2% of the bid price<br />
or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.<br />
9. The address referred to above is:<br />

10. There shall be an optional site visit to the Department of Roads, 4787/8 Moapare<br />
Road, Industrial Site, Gaborone, Botswana. The venue shall be 3 rd Floor, Conference<br />
Room 309, at 10:00 hours on Friday 17 th May 2013<br />
Another optional site visit shall be at Conference Room 2, Ministry of Transport and<br />
Communications Headquarters, Westgate Mall, Western Bypass, Gaborone,<br />
Botswana at 12:00 hours on the same day.<br />
The third optional site visit shall be at Department of Road Transport and Safety<br />
Conference Room, Floor 2, Tshomarelo House (BSB Building), BBS Mall, Gaborone<br />
at 14:00 hours on the same day.
