InHand Fury-X: Mobile, Internet of Things Platform
Optimized for Military, Medical and Industrial Use
The Fury-X single board computer (SBC), based
on the NXP i.MX 6SoloX processor, enables
space- and power-optimized circuitry for real time
control, cloud communication for Internet of Things
(IoT), and other high reliability applications. Its
many peripheral interfaces provide connection with
sensors, transducers, motors, and cameras for real
time applications with multiple network and Human-
Machine Interface (HMI) features.
The SoloX processor features two heterogeneous
ARM cores. The Cortex-M4 microcontroller enables
real time control with low power consumption while
running a real time operating system (RTOS). The
Cortex-A9 manages external network and graphics
communications via a higher level operating system,
such as Linux or Android. It may be powered down
when not used to conserve power and minimize heat.
The Fury-X IoT platform includes the processor,
DDR3, NAND flash, real time clock (RTC), watchdog
timer, and peripheral interfaces such as: SPI,
I2C, UART, CAN, USB 2.0 OTG, three USB 2.0
hosts, two 10/100/1000 Ethernets (one configurable
for Power over Ethernet), and wireless module. An
optional expansion board provides added peripheral
connectivity, including: LVDS or parallel LCD,
touch screen, camera, and additional serial/sensors.
Interprocessor communication is provided via BSP APIs that
utilize SoloX hardware semaphores, interrupts, and memory
buffers. SoloX peripheral mapping capability allows each
Fury-X peripheral to be controlled by the Cortex-M4 or the
Cortex-A9 in separate security domains.
The Fury-X can be used as-is as a standalone SBC. For customers
with specific product requirements, InHand’s engineering
services can create custom expansion boards for the
Fury-X or modify the Fury-X to meet product specifications.
