Thank you to all who participated in the unprecedented success of the Campaign. Your support will be empowering dreams and providing resources to help Middlesex County College students for years to come. The success of the Community Investment Campaign will continue through a renewed emphasis on the Annual Campaign in the coming year. It is hoped that new supporters who were inspired to help our students during the campaign will continue to assist Middlesex County College students through regular annual gifts. A particular point of pride is the number of Alumni contributors who joined in the initiative. Their participation is a strong endorsement of the College’s success in providing a quality, accessible education to a diverse student body and to provide life long learning for the community. Alumni comprised the largest group of campaign donors, demonstrating their strong belief in alma mater. The Foundation continued to receive generous gifts to its Annual Campaign in 2006 – 2007. Foundation events add sparkle and enjoyment to our fund raising efforts each year. The 24th Annual Scholarship Golf Classic was held on September 18, 2006. More than 85 golfers and luncheon guests enjoyed a beautiful day on the links. Contests provided great fun and impressive play throughout the day. The big winners were our students — more than $44,500 was raised. Chairman Brian Legg and a dedicated committee are already working to “Beat their Best” in 2007. A new venue, special prizes, new contests, and special recognition of an outstanding Foundation founder are planned for the 25th Anniversary Outing to be held on September 17, 2007 at Colonia Country Club. The 38th Annual Scholarship Ball was held at the County’s newest address for elegance in New Brunswick, The Heldrich, on April 28th. The Provident Bank Foundation received the evening’s award in recognition of their outstanding support of Middlesex students and quality education in the community. The Provident Bank Foundation, President Paul Pantozzi, surprised a delighted audience by announcing that The
Provident Bank Foundation would fund an additional scholarship in honor of John P. Mulkerin. Mr. Mulkerin is a member of both the College and the bank’s Board of Trustees and is former Chairman of the Middlesex County College Foundation. The impact of his personal leadership is evident at the Foundation and other worthy organizations he supports. This new endowed scholarship in his name will ensure that his legacy of support to deserving Middlesex County College students continues. While Ball guests danced the night away, they also anticipated the results of a diamond raffle and extensive selection of silent auction items. Event Chairperson, Barbara Bernard, was gracious in expressing her gratitude to all who assisted in creating a memorable evening. The Ball raised more than $142,000 in support of the Foundation’s mission. Corporate Mission Partners helped to ensure that Foundation initiatives start off on a successful track each year. These Partners provide early support for the Golf Classic, Scholarship Ball, Annual Campaign, and Community Celebration. Their pro-active leadership demonstrates a strong belief in our students and the Foundation’s ability to inspire the community to invest in helping students to achieve their academic and career goals. Henry David Thoreau stated, "If you have built castles in the air, your work is not lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." Foundation contributors give Middlesex County College students the resources needed to obtain a quality education. That education provides the foundation for their dreams. Thank you for your support during the past year. Thank you for your belief in our students’ abilities. Thank you for empowering dreams.
