WEEK 4: One-on-one Leadership
Relationship and partnership
Operational Goals:
1. To develop a deeper relationship with a life’s partner through strengthening each
other’s motivation and hope with the help of God;
2. To learn the proper way to give advices in which God is also in the conversation;
3. To understand the importance of partnership, not only in UST Campus Feast, but in
real life;
Note: Take more time for the Key Questions below
Patron Saint: *Let the prospect share a story of a Saint he/she knows. If
he/she does not know one, share to him the Holy Family of Jesus.
Joseph and Mary were partners, respected and supported each other because they
know that it’s God’s will. They were good parents of Jesus, our Lord, who taught him to be a
good Man here on Earth. Joseph and Mary is one of the best examples of partners. In our
lives, in order for us to fulfill the mission that God called us to respond and do, we shouldn’t
be alone, we need partners to help each other to fulfill it. That partners in our lives are gifts
from God, it can be our brother, sister, friend, etc. Pray to God to protect the relationship
between you and your partner in your mission here on Earth.
Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18
7 But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of
God and not from us.
8 We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to
despair;
9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed;
10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may
also be manifested in our body.
11For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so
that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.

13 Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I
believed, therefore I spoke,” we too believe and therefore speak,
14 knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and
place us with you in his presence. i
15 Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more
and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.
16 Therefore, we are not discouraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away,
our inner self is being renewed day by day.
17 For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory
beyond all comparison,
18 as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but
what is unseen is eternal.
Virtues Talk: Fortitude
CCC 1808
Fortitude is the moral virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in
the pursuit of the good. It strengthens the resolve to resist temptations and to overcome
obstacles in the moral life. The virtue of fortitude enables one to conquer fear, even fear of
death, and to face trials and persecutions. It disposes one even to renounce and sacrifice his
life in defense of a just cause. "The Lord is my strength and my song." "In the world you
have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
Be an inspiration for your partner to have fortitude. In a group of 2 members, each
should have fortitude. If you have this virtue, you are not afraid to learn and serve more
despite of all challenges.
Questions: (to be answered by both)
1. What is/are your problem/s right now? Answers can be as many as possible.
2. Honestly, how is your faith to God right now?
3. How do you listen to God?
4. What do you want to rant right now?
5. *Have an enough time to give advices to each other. Before you give advices, have a
minute of silence, listening to God while thinking what he/she has shared. Keep this
in private.
Message: When you have a mission, find a partner and pray it to God. Your partner is your
partner in prayer and in success and failure.
