Curriculum
The core curriculum gives you the skills you
need to adopt an entrepreneurial attitude and an
entrepreneurial leadership style. This combination
of hard skills (technical, for predictable
environments) and soft skills (personal, ideal
for uncertain environments) allows you to lead
innovations that create economic and social value.
Signature
Learning Experience
Based on Babson’s Unique Entrepreneurship
Thought and Action (ETA) methodology, the
MBSC MBA incorporates Signature Learning
Experiences (SLEs) into the curriculum to
develop entrepreneurial leaders. These courses
will require students to apply their learning to real
world problems or start new social or business
ventures. This type of project based learning will
be supplemented by a network of mentors and
advisors. Development of individuals will continue
outside class through an intentionally created set
of co-curricular experiences that will reinforce
and build the entrepreneurial leadership skills of
students.

SLE Blocks
These courses and educational activities
occur throughout the program, giving
students the opportunity to integrate the
knowledge gained in the classroom and
apply it to entrepreneurial decision making
through action learning. SLEs challenge
students to apply their business skills for
complex problem solving and frequently
provide an opportunity to practice leadership
and teamwork skills, apply ethical and socially
responsible reasoning, and examine decisions
in the context of a global and ever changing
economic environment.

IDEATION

FEASIBILITY
Ideation is a phase of the
entrepreneurial process where the
entrepreneur and his/her team
create (“ideate”) and develop
an idea around an opportunity
perceived in the market. This is
an iterative process that is refined
as the entrepreneur gathers more
information about the idea s/he
is pursuing.
Not all interesting ideas are
feasible. In this part of the
entrepreneurial process, students
begin to test the feasibility of their
ideas by gathering information
from a variety of sources. That
information is put together and
analyzed to get a sense of the
main economic components of the
project.

Block
03
The main goal of the entrepreneur
is to launch his/her project, and
this phase studies that. Here, we
study how to go from the plan to
the implementation, ensuring that
the resource allocation decisions
that are taken are in the global
interest of the project and that
help ensure its viability. This
phase teaches the entrepreneur
to manage the risk intrinsic in the
project by reducing the resources
required while maximizing their
impact.
SLE is an invitation to develop one’s personal
project and test its feasibility in one of four
domains: stand-alone entrepreneurship, social
entrepreneurship projects, family business
development, and corporate venturing. Each
student chooses the domain of his/her choosing,
and develops a realistic, feasible plan that can be
implemented at graduation or even before.

In this block, we focus our attention
on growth and scalability. Growth,
in itself, is not a strategy but it can
be a very effective strategic tool,
helping reduce cost and increase

Admissions
Two formats have been designed to accommodate our students’ needs and
preferences, including their family obligation. No matter which of MBSC’s
two programs works best with your schedule and experience, you can be
sure you’re getting the same core curriculum from the same faculty that
makes the MBSC MBA program a unique educational experience.
FULL-TIME MBA /
Designed for individuals who need a
comprehensive business focus to redirect
their careers and want an in-residence
campus experience.
Duration & Schedule /
Up to 15 months, Full-Time, throughout the
week
PART-TIME MBA /
Designed for ambitious individuals eager to
take on future leadership challenges who
seek a flexible program to earn a degree
while they work.
Duration & Schedule /
Up to 22 months, 2 long weekends per month
Program /
47 credits, 15 core courses (including the
capstone course), 4 SLE courses and 3
elective courses.
Signature Learning Experiences (SLE) /
SLE’s develop entrepreneurial leaders
through simulations, action learning
projects and self-reflection. They give
students an opportunity to create and
nurture individual projects and test their
feasibility in one of four domains. You will
choose the domain of your preference and
develop a realistic, feasible business that
you are expected to launch, manage, and
grow.

MBA STUDENT /
MBSC Full-Time MBA students are high

background. Typically, they have already
had 3-5 years of work experience. They
are diverse in background, academic
qualifications, networks represented,
career orientation and professional

commitments.
WHO IS THE PART-TIME
MBA STUDENT /
MBSC Part-Time MBA students are
working professionals from diverse
industries with a real appetite for
advancing their career. Typically, they
earn their MBA while continuing to work,
and have at least 3-5 years of relevant
work experience. They have demonstrated
high potential for leadership, and a solid
track record of success in employment or
starting a new venture.
