BRING A MATE BRINGS MEMBERS TO IPSWICH
On the March 18, Ipswich Kart Club hosted the first of Karting Australia’s sanctioned ‘Bring a Mate’ drive
days, where a group of currently licensed members brought along their friends for a taste of the sport.
A keen group of 10 ‘mates’ turned up with their licensed companions, to which they were presented with
a selection of senior karts from a range of classes appropriate for rookies of karting.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated, and the club saw a gain of at least two new
members almost immediately following the conclusion of the day.
The Karting Australia ‘Bring a Mate’ initiative has potential to grow the Australian Karting scene further,
with more events planned at KA sanctioned clubs in the coming months.
The Bring A Mate days are designed to bring a professionally organised focus with national attention to
the success of previously club sanctioned ‘Come and try’ days.
Clubs are encouraged to add a Bring A Mate session to each Club Day to further utilise the infrastructure
in place for the race event and also give those drivers who will participate in the Bring A Mate concept
the chance to get a feel for the sport and how a race day operates, which in many cases will lead them
to signing up to be a club member on the day.
