Since 1982 <strong>Athena</strong> has been creating showers for New Zealand homes.<br />
We design and develop products specifically for New Zealand homes using the knowledge<br />
and experience of our NZ based product development team.<br />
The aim is to evolve with ever changing design trends, while ensuring that functional features and the use of quality<br />
raw materials remain a key focus.<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> showers are manufactured in New Zealand and carry a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.<br />
DOOR SET<br />
Shower door and returns use toughened safety glass which is manufactured to NZS4223<br />
Part 3: 1999, AS/NZS 2208<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> showers have been designed to feature minimal joinery on the doors and returns.<br />
Frameless and semi frameless glass does not close in the shower, in fact it gives a<br />
greater perception of size, space and depth in the bathroom. It is also more difficult for<br />
mould and grime to build up on, and is therefore easier to keep clean.<br />
> Installation tolerances are built into the door and return systems to compensate for<br />
out-of plumb walls.<br />
ACRYLIC WALL<br />
> Wall linings are made using premium quality Senosan Anti Bac acrylic capped ABS which<br />
provides an easy to clean, antibacterial gloss surface.<br />
> Moulded walls are a convenient way to incorporate storage into your shower. The<br />
moulding is seamlessly integrated with no joins making cleaning easy and minimising<br />
mould or mildew build up.<br />
> Allora and Soul showers feature a finishing profile to cover the edge of the acrylic wall.<br />

SHOWER TRAY<br />
> Shower trays are made using fibreglass reinforced construction for superior<br />
strength and come complete with a chrome Easy Clean waste<br />
> Allora and Soul shower trays use Senosan Anti Bac acrylic capped ABS. The waste is<br />
positioned in the back corner to enable comfortable showering without standing on or<br />
around a traditional centre waste. Wall studs do not need to be checked out with our<br />
trays. The tray upstand height means no silicone is seen inside the shower.<br />
> Lifestyle and Motio shower trays are made using Lucite sanitary grade acrylic with<br />
an aluminium upstand profile bonded and fastened to the sides of the tray. This<br />
profile allows the tray to be placed directly against the studs without the need for<br />
any check in, meaning standard thickness Aqualine Gib board or 9mm Villa board can<br />
be used to line the walls. The upstand creates a 40mm vertical surface to bond any<br />
water proofing membranes, ensuring a leak proof wall to tray junction.<br />
SHOWER INSTALLATION<br />
Installation expertise is key to gaining the best from our products. We recommend that<br />
an <strong>Athena</strong> trained installer is used for installation of our showers. If installations are not<br />
completed as specified in our instructions the manufacturers warranty is void. A full list<br />

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE<br />
> Wipe down the shower or use a squeegee to remove excess water from the glass after<br />
use. If choosing Diamond Fusion option - follow their instructions for cleaning the glass.<br />
> Use a trusted glass cleaner on shower glass<br />
> Use Vibrance Acrylic surface cleaner to clean the tray and wall - see page 63<br />
> Waste lid and cup should be removed and cleaned regularly<br />
> Remove and clean drip seals on a regular basis, these can simply be replaced when<br />
they no longer look their best<br />

<strong>Athena</strong> has been designing vanities for New Zealand homes since 1982. We evolve with changing<br />
design trends to provide an inspiring selection of vanity, furniture and mirror choices to suit<br />
varying design styles.<br />
VANITY TOPS<br />
Sirocco stone bench tops deliver an everlasting sense of luxury and style.<br />
Select from the clean, contemporary look of an Caesarstone Stone in Snow, Sleek Concrete,<br />
Frosty Carrina and Vanilla Noir, or the timeless beauty of granite like Absolute Black for a<br />
surface of natural beauty. Engineered Stone is a composite slab made up of around 95%<br />
crushed Quartz stone bound. See page 28 for further details.<br />
Athenite basins are made from premium solid surface material cast from<br />
natural minerals and acrylic polymer.<br />
Basins are non-porous, stain resistant and the end result presents a silky gloss finish that<br />
feels warm to the touch.<br />
Vitreous China (or VC) has a classic appearance with its solid glassy finish.<br />
VC products offer excellent heat, scratch, stain and wear resistance.<br />
Made from a natural material it is a cast ceramic (clay) glazed with enamel (glass). Due<br />
to the nature of its production, visable imperfections are part of the overall look of VC<br />
meaning no two tops are produced the same.<br />
Composite tops and basins have a gloss surface that achieves a clean<br />
smooth look almost free from surface imperfections.<br />
Tops are resistant to impact damage and offer good dimensional stability.<br />
Composite tops are created using a mixture of resin and mineral fillers with a<br />
hardwearing gel coat top surface.<br />
CABINETS<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> cabinets are manufactured in New Zealand from sustainably<br />
managed, low emission New Zealand produced board.<br />
Board used in the construction of <strong>Athena</strong> vanities uses only low emission E1 standard (or<br />
better) board. New Zealand’s board (MDF and Particle board) is regarded as the best in the<br />
world and is sourced from sustainably managed forest plantations.<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> colour finishes are extremely high quality. Compared to wood veneer, and paint, they<br />
will resist bumps and knocks more readily and are more likely to maintain their as new finish<br />
over time as paints and lacquers tend to dull with ongoing exposure to UV.<br />
CONSTRUCTED DRAWER BOXES<br />
A signature of Create range cabinets is the tall drawer sides to stop taller items from<br />
falling out or tipping over. Deep storage is integrated with concealed undermounted soft<br />
close runner systems. Custom-designed for our range we maximise internal space, and<br />
deliver a hard wearing, easy to clean finish.<br />
SOFT CLOSING DOORS AND DRAWERS<br />
Soft closing doors and drawers systems are specified on all <strong>Athena</strong> cabinets which deliver<br />
precision closing and reduce both noise and impact damage.<br />
INTERNAL DRAWERS<br />
Soltero Wall cabinets in the CREATE range feature internal drawer compartments to<br />
provide a functional storage solution while maintaining a sleek, uncluttered external<br />
appearance.<br />

styling of c-lenda spa jets.<br />
With c-lenda’s patented ergonomic technology, jets are almost flush with the sides of the bath, creating a smooth near<br />
continuous surface. These innovative flush jet fittings have redefined the aesthetics of spa baths and are ergonomically<br />
the most comfortable jets available.<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> is the only New Zealand spa bath manufacturer to use this pioneering technology which offers the ultimate in<br />

This unique, unobtrusive system makes <strong>Athena</strong> spa baths stand out above other “standard” spa’s. On other systems,<br />

SOLACE AND LIQUID Baths<br />
OPTIONAL UPSTAND<br />
Optional factory fitted 15mm aluminium upstands are recommended in shower<br />
over bath situations The upstands enable a water tight seal between the bath<br />
and wall lining or tiles allowing the installer to apply the sealant above the baths<br />
surface, preventing a visable seal that can discolour or mould.<br />
FRAMES<br />
Liquid and Solace baths have the option of being supplied<br />
with a timber frame which is factory fitted to the bath to support<br />
the bath floor so no additional support is required on the underside.<br />
Timber bath frames are made from machined gauge pine which is<br />
straight and true to allow easy fixing of lining materials.<br />
This is a cost effective solution which saves time onsite by<br />
eliminating the need to frame up once the product has been<br />
delivered.<br />
<strong>Athena</strong> Spa baths are supplied preframed ready for installation.<br />
