RULES AND REGULATIONS 20<strong>17</strong><br />

OPEN <strong>SHOW</strong><br />

1. The society is established for promoting the cultivation of Vegetables, Fruit,<br />

Flowers and other plants, and is named:-<br />

“THE DUNVANT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY”.<br />

2. All entries to be in the hands of the secretary no later than 10.00 am on Saturday<br />

19 th August 20<strong>17</strong>. The Hall will be open to receive exhibits from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm<br />

on the evening prior to the Show, and from 8.0 am to 10.45 am on the morning of the<br />

Show, to enable judging to proceed. Only authorised Officials to remain.<br />

No Exhibit may be removed before 4.30 pm on the day of the Show.<br />

3. Objections to any Exhibit may be made in writing before 4.00 pm, on the day of the<br />

Show, together with a deposit of £1.00 which will be returned if the objection is<br />

sustained.<br />

4. All Exhibits to be grown by the Exhibitor, excepting the Floral Art Classes.<br />

5. The decision of the Judges will be final and they are empowered to withhold prizes<br />

in cases where entries are of insufficient merit.<br />

6. The exhibitors are to provide their own Vases etc.<br />

7. The Cups are for annual competition, cannot be won outright, and must be returned<br />

to the Secretary by 1st August 2018.<br />

8. Points to be awarded in all Sections as follows:-<br />

9. The presentation of Cups and Awards will take place in the Main Hall, at 4.00 pm,<br />

on the day of the Show.<br />

10. The committee will NOT be responsible for any accidents or injuries to persons<br />

attending the Show, but all reasonable care will be taken.<br />

DUNVANT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY<br />

Dunvant Horticultural Society, has over 300 members and is<br />

special in many ways.<br />

Its aim is to fulfil the needs of local people interested in<br />

acquiring knowledge of plant cultivation and care and give<br />

members the opportunity to see and learn what type of<br />

plants and vegetables etc, can be cultivated in their gardens.<br />

This is achieved through the varied Programs it arranges<br />

each year, not only in monthly meetings, but by arranging<br />

visits to various parts of the UK and also Europe (Holland,<br />

Belgium, Germany and France).<br />

Meetings are held on the 2 nd Tuesday of each month,<br />

at 7.30 pm in the Dunvant Community Centre<br />

(all meetings are subject to change)<br />

Annual Membership Fee is £2<br />

Due on 1st September each year<br />

The Society Shop, on Dunvant Square, is Open<br />

every Saturday 9.30am to 11.30am.<br />
