DUNVANT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
RULES AND REGULATIONS 2017
OPEN SHOW
1. The society is established for promoting the cultivation of Vegetables, Fruit,
Flowers and other plants, and is named:-
“THE DUNVANT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY”.
2. All entries to be in the hands of the secretary no later than 10.00 am on Saturday
19 th August 2017. The Hall will be open to receive exhibits from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm
on the evening prior to the Show, and from 8.0 am to 10.45 am on the morning of the
Show, to enable judging to proceed. Only authorised Officials to remain.
No Exhibit may be removed before 4.30 pm on the day of the Show.
3. Objections to any Exhibit may be made in writing before 4.00 pm, on the day of the
Show, together with a deposit of £1.00 which will be returned if the objection is
sustained.
4. All Exhibits to be grown by the Exhibitor, excepting the Floral Art Classes.
5. The decision of the Judges will be final and they are empowered to withhold prizes
in cases where entries are of insufficient merit.
6. The exhibitors are to provide their own Vases etc.
7. The Cups are for annual competition, cannot be won outright, and must be returned
to the Secretary by 1st August 2018.
8. Points to be awarded in all Sections as follows:-
FIRST
SECOND
THIRD
4 points
3 points
1 point.
9. The presentation of Cups and Awards will take place in the Main Hall, at 4.00 pm,
on the day of the Show.
10. The committee will NOT be responsible for any accidents or injuries to persons
attending the Show, but all reasonable care will be taken.
11. Definition of a ‘Novice : -
‘A person who has not won a prize in any of our previous Shows’
