RUGBY SUPPORTERS’ GROUP PRESIDENT
Congratulations all those who have signed on to play Rugby this year. You
are adding to the history of St Paul’s Rugby that started in 1963. I would like
to thank the School for the continued support of Rugby and its commitment to
improving our standards on and off the field.
The Rugby program has improved greatly due to a concerted effort of improving
the coaching methods being used. There is Rugby Tots for Junior School,
including a Rugby invasion where the Open Rugby boy’s run a training session
for the Junior teams. Iconz Rugby oversees the Junior and Middle School
programs and have also greatly influenced the way we approach the game at
the Senior School. These programs have lifted our skill levels in every team and
help to make SPS Rugby very competitive on the field.
The RSG actively supports these Coaching programs and is a major force
in the organisation of the Year Nine and Open Rugby tours. The home game
canteens, raffles, Gala and Pink days are all run by the RSG for the benefit of
Rugby at the School. We meet on the last Monday of each month in the Schools
library at 6:30pm. All are welcome.
I ask all players to embrace the challenges of the game, enjoy its highs and
learn for the disappointments. Good luck for the season
