Guidelines for Writing Your personal Statement:

There are four sections described below. Please include the following information when preparing your Personal 

Statement. While not required, we strongly suggest that you format your personal statement by heading each section 

with the headings shown below. Write your 1 ½ to 2 page personal statement in paragraph form and do not use 

bullet format under the section headings. The essay should be in 10-12 point font, double spaced, signed and dated.

• What are your plans after you receive your degree?

• Indicate why College of Santa Fe would be a good match for you and your future goals.

• Explain any inconsistencies in academic record. If your GPA is not what you would have liked, explain 

special personal, physical or family circumstances that may have adversely affected your GPA.
