King Edward VIII reigned from 20 January 1936 until<br />
11 December of the same year when he famously<br />
abdicated the throne to marry American divorcee,<br />
Wallis Simpson.<br />
King George VI ascended the throne following his<br />
brother’s abdication and went on to lead Britain<br />
through the Second World War.<br />
