The main message of the bible is
to do all things through Christ and
to do things in glory to God. The
messages portrayed throughout
popular forms of media such as
music, movies/TV shows, and
social media do not influence
teens to live their life in a way that
is glorifying PG.2-6 to God.

You shall not murder.
You shall not commit
adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false
witness against your
neighbor.
You shall not covet.
The bible has many portions that are
focused on guiding people to fulfill God?s
purpose for them in life such as the Ten
Commandments and verses throughout the
bible. In our day and age, all forms of media
break multiple commandments. The bible is
contradictory to trends in 2017 media, and
the bible impacts teens?media usage in
some way or another.

Certain genres of music nowadays only glorify
sex, drug use, violence, capitalism and wasting
money on material things for personal gain
and selfish reasons. Most Hip-Hop, Rnb, Rock
and Roll, and even some country songs have
very contradictory messages to the bible.
Most artists who get radio play have songs
promoting and glorifying sinful things.
Teenagers listen to an average of 2.5hrs of
music a day and ? hit pop songs have
references to drugs, sex, alcohol abuse, and
other explicit references. Rap music is very
prominent currently and has a bigger
influence than ever on kids younger than ever.
Rap music is also getting more radio play on,
supposedly ?all-age?, pop music radio stations.
Radio play is important because the music
reaches different audiences who may not
have been exposed to the vulgar messages of
some songs if not played on the radio.
Hip-Hop music mainly glorifies violence and
abuse. Countless hip hop artists create
persona's for themselves as gangsters that act
recklessly and violently. Kids and teenagers
look up to these artists and want to live their
lives like them.
Hip-Hop songs such as, ?Bad and Boujee? by
Lil Uzi Vert, and ?One night? by Lil Yachty are
extremely popular within the teenage
demographic and both have terrible messages
demeaning to women.
Music has become a huge part of our culture
and people listen to music on a regular basis.
At this day and age, the music that is popular
on the radio, also known as ?pop? music, has
messages that degrade and dehumanize
women, and also promote violence. These
things are the opposite of what the Ten
Commandments and the bible says. Christian
teens are influenced to go against God?s will
after listening to popular music of our day and
age.
The message of ?Bad and Boujee?is
describing how the artists use their ?bad?
(attractive) girls for sex without
committing to a relationship. In the song?s
chorus, women are referred to as ?thots?
which is a derogatory term for a girl who
has sex with men with no strings attached.
The song ?One Night?is extremely popular.
The message of this song is talking about how
the artist only wants his girls for one night to
have sex with them, and then leave them. 1
Corinthians 6:18 says, ?Every other sin a
person commits is outside the body, but the
sexually immoral person sins against his own
body.?This verse is saying premarital sex,
which this song is glorifying, is a very deep sin.
This message is being exposed heavily to
christian teens who are trying to abide to God?s
laws.
