What an absolutely brilliant week we have had! The weather has been glorious and it finally feels like
summer is on the way. Our children have been working incredibly hard.
Children's Parliament have met with all the trust schools to look at the nominations for the trust
awards event on the 15th June. More information will follow.
Year 2 had an amazing movie, pizza and popcorn night on Thursday. They watch two films and
enjoyed eating lots of pizza - some children feeling very stuffed! It was a warm day so they drank
plenty of squash and finished off the evening with some popcorn.
Year 5 wrote some amazing letters this week to the emergency services and the community of
Manchester - I was incredibly proud of their compassion.
Year 5 also made their favourite Greek dishes and shared them with parents for their final outcome.
This half term they have been working hard to understand the Ancient Greek way of life! They have
created their own Greek buildings and Greek myths. What a fantastic way to celebrate their learning
for the half term- especially with the beautiful sunshine!
On June 9th we are going to wear red for British Heart Foundation more details can be found
On a personal note, I have absolutely loved my first two weeks at Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, the
staff and children work incredibly hard and make the school such a magical place to be! It has been
fantastic to start to get to know parents and if you haven't already said hi please do.
Our cake sale in school today raised £55.00 – thank you for the cake donations the children loved them.
On Friday 12th May, Miss Gregory's baby joined their family: Mia Rose weighing 6lb 1oz. They are
both doing well although it sounds like Mia is a bit of a diva at night.
Have a wonderful week’s holiday - let's hope the sunshine continues!
