Double major: Nutrition and Dietetics, Biology/Pre-med<br />
Involvement: Volunteer with Bright Bodies/Smart Moves, a weight management<br />
program for children at the Celentano School in <strong>New</strong> <strong>Haven</strong>. The program focuses<br />
on self-esteem building, exercise, nutrition education and family support to help<br />
children succeed.<br />
Hope for the future: To get my Registered Dietitian license, then proceed<br />
to medical school. I have big aspirations for myself and am willing to do all<br />
the hard work necessary to make them happen.<br />
Why she is grateful: Here at UNH, I have found mentors who are<br />
genuinely concerned about my future, and supportive people who push me<br />
to strive for more each day. I have attended other colleges and universities,<br />
and not one <strong>of</strong> them has even come close to <strong>of</strong>fering the nurturing and<br />
encouraging atmosphere I have found at UNH. I am thankful every day that<br />
I am able to attend UNH — thank you! — and to be surrounded by people<br />
who care for my future. I now see my potential, and I am most proud and<br />
thankful for my newfound belief in myself.<br />
