PPE AND PFPE INSPECTION
HIRE
At our Service Centre, we are able
to offer fully certified inspection,
cleaning and testing and repair of
Ursuit Immersion Suits.
In line with SOLAS safety standards, with respect to critical
lifesaving equipment, OAASIS in partnership with Ursuit have
introduced an annual service and recertification program to
ensure that all suits remain certified and fit for purpose, for the
expected life of the product.
To ensure the highest standards are maintained, all service
activities are carried out by an approved Ursuit Service Centre.
By performing the servicing and recertification of all Ursuit
equipment in this manner, we ensure that dedicated, fully
trained personnel perform all service activities in a consistent,
professional and expedient manner. All test activities are
undertaken utilising specialised custom built equipment that
has been approved.
We maintain detailed records of all servicing activities; log
the results of all tests, repairs, serial numbers, and customer
details.
A recertification certificate is issued after each service and the
equipment then has an additional 12-month warranty.
OAASIS offer bespoke Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
and Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE) inspection
services for companies involved in Work at Height. Our services
range include complete inspection, assessment, marking and
logging of all specialist Work at Height and Confined Space
equipment or PPE.
Our fully trained personnel undertake thorough visual
inspections of equipment and assessment of key elements to
give a detailed report of inspection and most importantly a
PASS or FAIL result to determine if the product is safe for use.
Thorough examinations by a ‘competent person’ of any lifting
equipment used for lifting persons (such as Personal Fall
Protection Equipment) are required by law to be conducted
at least every 6 months (or less if recommended by the
equipment manufacturer) as detailed in the Lifting Operations
and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998.
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
(PUWER) 1998 states that ‘Work equipment exposed to
conditions causing deterioration which is liable to result in
dangerous situations must be inspected at suitable intervals’
and that any lifting equipment should also be ‘thoroughly
examined’ after it has been subjected to ‘any exceptional
circumstances which are liable to jeopardise the safety of
the work equipment’ (such as shock-loading / dropping from
height).
OAASIS offers a complete hire service for marine life saving
equipment such as Ursuit transfer suits and Life Jackets
with PLBs. Our hire fleet is regularly inspected, cleaned and
recertified to ensure each product is safe for purpose when
they are required. Further hire packages including PPE and
Working at Height equipment can also be discussed.
In many instances, hiring equipment is more cost efficient than
purchasing for temporary or on-going projects and workplace
situations. OAASIS are able to provide both long and short
term hire solutions with our growing fleet of hire equipment.
With an on-site Service Centre, we can ensure our clients
receive competitive rates and turnaround times to meet
expectations and demand. We can build bespoke packages to
the requirements of clients.
Built in service and inspection costs – our hire rates include
the cost of servicing and inspection of equipment annually
and as needed before/after hiring.
No man hours lost time due to service and inspection – if an
annual inspection falls within a hire period, we will provide
replacement equipment to ensure no down time whilst
equipment is serviced.
