When I started listing the vehicles from Germany by area 10 years ago (690-OJ) I had no idea how long this
exercise would take but I do remember a prominent senior official (now retired) of the Circle saying that he
thought the task would never be finished. Well, here is the last part of the sequential listing in which time there
have been over 20,000 vehicles published, many with full or part VINs. There have been more coaches than local
buses because the main basis for the lists has been my own observations. I should also apologise for the now
somewhat archaic nature of the content of recent lists, since my opportunity for continental trips, particularly to
Paris has diminished to almost nothing in recent years. However, now having cleared my own lists, we are in a
position to publish more recent updates to these lists in future editions. In any event, for the more prolifically
observed areas, there are representatives of most of the larger fleets which will give intending travellers an idea
of the names to look for. For those interested in seeing the whole completed exercise as an Excel file (around
3mb) this can be emailed on request to steve@hillierbc.com. The project is too big to print so this remains the
only option for onward transmission.
WSW – Weißwasser was in the province of Sachsen, being situated on the Polish border 40kms southeast of
Cottbus. The code was introduced in 1991 following re-unification and was replaced in December 1994 when it
was combined with GR – Görlitz Kreis and NY - Niesky to form NOL – Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis
in Görlitz.
