Welcome to our Thriving World,
The idea was birthed on the notion to inspire and mentor
the potential of tomorrow’s leaders. With our Thriving
brand we aim to tell amazing colourful South African
entrepreneurial and leadership stories, including
mentorship advice, tools and services that can help your
small business grow. I was truly inspired by the power of
mentorship and helping other people realise their
potential to be great and reach for their dreams.
We see the Thriving brand becoming part of the
entrepreneurial culture needed to change the SA
economic landscape. We need more and more people
to go to school and start growing their own businesses.
The current unemployment rate in the country can only
be changed through entrepreneurs taking more risks to
pursue their goals. I personally believe entrepreneurs and
leaders can help shape our greater society and influence
the community positively.
One thing I am constantly learning, is you must never give
up and you should have the determination to drive your
goals and aspirations and be willing to do what it takes
to succeed. It is never easy to start a business. But the
passion, drive and hunger to succeed should push you to
start following your dreams and aspirations.
Be willing to put in the hard work
Hard work never killed anyone. For your business to be a
success, it is always important to be willing to roll up your
sleeves and get the job done, paying attention to detail
and producing excellence in the product and services you
offer customers and clients.
Have a clear goal
Never start any venture or ask any
funding if you don’t have a clear goal.
It is crucial that you understand no
one will back something that you don’t
understand. It is important even as you
expand your brand and business that
you keep referring to your execution
plan and ensure you stay focused.
Understand your business and your
market
With constant research and finding a
mentor through our TEN [Thriving
Entrepreneur Network] platform we
believe you can enjoy your
entrepreneurial journey with advisory
teaching through our panel of experts.
Have FUN and be open to learning as
you go
It is great to have fun while doing your
business. Doing what you love while
satisfying a need through your product
offerings is important. I learned this
month that while trying to get your ROI
right, make sure you definitely get the
ROF, which is the return of FUN.
Online selling is seen as
far more difficult in closing
very profitable. It is expected
Valuable Tips on How Focusing Can
Increase Your ROE (Return on Effort)
Sign up to TEN Online
www.ten.network
Stop Multitasking, It
Doesn’t Work
You have a lot to do as an
entrepreneur; multitasking is
killing your productivity. Decide
what you need to do and then
schedule it. Honour your schedule.
And if you are challenged to keep
to your schedule, do it in small bite
sizes at a time.
Learn to Delegate
Inability to focus on a task may be
a sign you aren’t the best person to
do that work. Force yourself to not
do things you dislike, consider
delegating that work. You’ll be
happier and more productive, and
get a much higher ROE on your
time.
To Be Focused, Be
Prepared
Most entrepreneurs have a difficult time
focusing because they start their days and
weeks asking themselves what their
priorities are. So they start their days and
weeks without any focus points. End your
week with a goal for the following week,
end your day with a focus for the next day.
Train Yourself to Stay
Focused
Is it possible to train yourself to focus? Yes,
simply begin by working with a timer. Set
the timer for 20 minutes, and during that
time only focus on the task at hand. Don’t
allow yourself to check emails, social
media or texts. Remind yourself that it’s
only 20 minutes. After repeating the task
of a 20-minute session, exercise for a
seven-day period, move up to 30-minute
sessions. Before you know it you won’t
even need the timer.
