enemy. Her inner strength to call Captain
Barak into action shows she was willing to
put her faith on the line.
She took serious her responsibility as a
mother of Israel. As such, it was her duty to
provide for the well-being of her people. All
of this is based on the notion that faith isn’t
faith until one acts. Having acted, expect the
universe to rise up and meet you in the form
of synchronicities and surprising help. In my
view, miracles don’t just happen; they have
to be courted.
What about you? What assignment are
you being called to do? And what is your
hesitation? Deborah’s willingness to act was
greater than the ambivalence that might
have been swirling around in her mind. And
yes, she made use of everything that was
available to her. We all have similar resources
available to us, in the form of intuition,
hunches, friends, colleagues, acquaintances,
and personal and public knowledge. Some
are hidden in plain view whether at home, in
the community or at work. The question is,
“Do we see them as opportunities to make
a difference or do we simply take them for
granted.?” Do we sit back and passively say,
