Good afternoon and welcome to the Easy Buy Stadium for<br />
today’s game against <strong>Parkgate</strong> FC. We would like to welcome<br />
all officials, players and supporters from <strong>Parkgate</strong> and also<br />
congratulate them on their recent good form and managing to<br />
survive the drop down into the NCEL First Division. I’m sure<br />
you all agree they deserved to stay up based on their form in<br />
recent weeks.<br />
However, despite our own good form of late it just was not<br />
enough and we did not manage to beat the drop with results<br />
from other teams last weekend who were not on good form<br />
sealed our fate and unfortunately was relegated to the First<br />
Division for next season.<br />
Our good form in 2017 just started too late in the season to<br />
save us, but everyone at the club is proud of the effort and<br />
commitment from the management and players in recent<br />
weeks. Looking back at recent results we have been a top 10<br />
team in the league and have been improving game by game.<br />
If we can keep this group of players next season we will be a<br />
force to reckon with and I’m sure we will bounce right back<br />
with promotion back to the Premier Division.<br />
As Chairman of the club I apologise to all of our supporters of<br />
the club for the relegation this season. We took over too late in<br />
last year’s pre-season and we knew it would be a struggle to<br />
stay in the Premier Division but we gave it a good go and came<br />
very close to staying up.<br />
However our main objective was secure the club’s future and I<br />
believe with the back room team I have here we have achieved<br />
this and the club is secure and can now push on for the future.<br />
This club, and town, is fantastic and we have now built new<br />
relations with the town and secured new sponsorship and<br />
grown the club in other ways. Recently we have secured a new<br />
Youth set up that will be joining the club next season playing<br />
under our name which is fantastic news for the club and town.<br />
