This lantern is used as a light signal on beacons and lighthouses. The 

light source, which is formed by using several LEDs, has a high number 

of parallel connections to minimize the light output degradation of the 

signal due to a failure of a single LED. The current of the LEDs is controlled 

with high accuracy by built-in adjustable controller. All LEDs used 

are classified according to luminous intensity and colour chromaticity 

(within IALA preferred colour zones).

LO-1/LED 

The range light lantern has been developed to be used as a main leading 

light signal in harsh marine environment. 

It is designed for up to 10 years of unattended operation - which is a 

great improvement compared to incandescent lamps. 

The light source, which is formed using over 100 LEDs, has a number of 

parallel connections to eliminate a total failure of the signal due to a 

failure of one single LED. 

The optic lens of LO-1/LED consists of over one hundred small, integrated 

fresnel lens sections forming a light beam with a medium horizontal 

divergance. The lens is moulded in UV stabilised Lexan polycarbonate 

which ensures durability of light output with minimal fading or discoloration 

while aging.

LS 100 

The LS 100 LED signal has been developed to be used as a medium 

range leading or traffic light in the marine environment with a 10 year 

maintenance interval. The lantern offers superior performance compared 

to signal lights operating with incandescent lamps. 

The light source consists of a number of LED’s that produces a combined 

light output. The light of each individual LED is collected into a miniature 

Fresnel lens which collects the light into a symmetric high intensity beam. 

The optical design is similar to the Sabik LO-LED lantern, but uses a 

smaller lens diameter and hence less LED’s. As a result, the LED signal 

produces a smaller luminous intensity than the long range LO-LED lantern. 

The high efficient optical lens is made of UV-resistant Lexan TM 

polycarbonate. The lantern base is made corrosion resistant marine 

grade aluminum that is epoxy painted. 

Typical application area for the signal is secondary leading lights, traffic 

signals for locks, bridge signal systems and hazard area indicators 

in harbors. 

The lantern has an integrated power supply with four power steps enabling 

the lantern intensity to be set to 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. The 

lantern can be operated with the SmartFlasher 6-28 or any other third 

party logical device through its logical input signal.

SmartLink is a compact remote monitoring and control unit for minor 

and medium AtoN´s. 

Due to its small size, the unit can be installed directly in the lantern. 

Thereby the installations costs are kept at a minimum and it is easy to 

upgrade existing lights with remote monitoring features. 

SmartLink uses an internal GSM modem to communicate with a SCADA 

system by E-mail and SMS. 

SmartLink can read out all status and configuration information from a 

SmartFlasher via a serial port. 

For monitoring and control of additional equipment e.g.RACON, power 

supply, rotation beacons, etc. 

the SmartLink has 4 digital inputs, 4 digital outputs and 4 analogue 

inputs. 

The power consumption of the unit is very low and will under normal 

circumstances not add any significant extra load to the energy balance 

of the light.The SmartLink can be programmed for control tasks with 

ArcticaTool and the monitoring,report and alarm functions can be setup 

remotely over the SCADA system.SmartLink is approved as a SAMsubscriber

With the WebSCADA monitoring and control system you can easily

For each station WebSCADA has an Alarm log. When a new alarm 

occurs it is posted in the alarm log with time of occurrence. E-mail can 

automatically be sent to three users with information about the new 

alarm. 

The user has to acknowledge the alarm in the alarm event report by 

typing his user-id. 

The time of acknowledgement is also stored in the alarm log

The Sabik AtoN AIS can broadcast standard Msg 21 which 

can be picked up by any AIS transponder. The binary flags 

in the message can also be configured to deliver status 

information about the station. 

The telemetry or engineering message is send as a binary 

Msg 6 or 8, and contains full details about station; 

- Status of lantern and photocell 

- Status and data about power supply (battery and solar 

panels as well as charging information) 

- Status of optional external equipment such as Racon, 

flood lights and alarm sensors 

- Meteorological information if sensors are installed 

- Hydrographical information if optional sensors are 

installed 

The Telemetry message delivered by the AtoN AIS is picked 

up by the WebSCADA remote monitoring and control 

system and presented in the same way as any Remote 

Terminal Unit using other communication medias: 

- Present data as tables, graphs or on process diagrams 

- Analyze process data and generate alarm reports 

- Store historical data in database for later analyze 

- Compare data in graph format from different stations 

- Display stations on navigational charts

The Sabik AtoN AIS is a fully compliant AIS (Automatic Identification System) 

transponder that offers a compact remote monitoring and control unit for all types 

of AtoN´s. The unit is compliant with the IALA Recommendation A-126 (Ed.1 - Dec 

2003) for the usage of AIS transponders in Marine Aids to Navigation. 

The unit is capable of broadcasting standard AtoN messages as well as telemetry 

messages from the AtoN station. The AIS message 21 is typically broadcasted 

every 6 minute (user programmable) and contains also the technical status of the 

AtoN equipment carried in the binary bits. In addition, a dedicated binary data 

message can be transmitted containing detailed information about the lantern, 

battery and solar panel performance. 

The Sabik AtoN AIS is connected to the lantern serial interface and data is collected 

from lantern data directly through serial communication. In addition there are 

8 digital channels available for monitoring of Racon, fog detectors, door switches, 

etc. Also auxiliary meteoroligical sensors can be connected to the available I/O’s. 

The messages are collected and presented on the WebSCADA Server using a AIS 

receiver connected to the serial port of the WebSCADA.

The new photovoltaic modules H245 have been designed for data collecting, telecommunications 

and special applications. 

Thanks to their high versatility, such modules are very appreciated and therefore they are used 

for photovoltaic systems in either the developing countries or the European market. 

Their performance and reliability have been recently improved thanks to the introduction of high 

efficiency I-Max® monocrystalline cells. 

At the typical battery operating voltage (12-13 Volts) the I-Max® technology, developed by 

Helios for its high-efficiency modules range, allows a remarkable increase of the current output 

(about 10-17%), differently from traditional modules. 

Such feature makes these modules particularly suited for systems with batteries and very attractive 

for special applications. 

These modules are made with 36 high-efficiency I-Max® 165x24mm monocrystalline cells and 

they have been designed to feed power under the toughest environmental and operating conditions. 

Every single cell and module is tested and their quality is checked several times during the manufacturing 

process so that their typical average lifetime of 30 years can be assured, as already 

proven by modules manufactured in the past. 

Easy and practical interconnections allow any voltage and configuration, while a properly-designed 

anodised aluminium frame makes these modules safe, easy and quick to install in many 

situations.

These PWX module uses multi crystalline technology of 0,2 mm thickness. 

The enclosure of the cells between two sheets of glass guarantees the excellent strength and reliability of the module. 

The use of a sheet of glass behind the cells gives an optimum behavior in extreme climatological conditions. (Temperature, humidity) 

The double glass benefits from the excellent mechanical and isolation. behavior of glass on both sides of the module. 

Moreover, the glass assures maximum heat dissipation. The white rear side of the glass augments the efficiency of the module. 

The distance between the sides and the cells is optimized to give the best compromise between water tightness and module 

size reduction. 

The support in anodized aluminum is designed for easy fixation front side and rear side. Due to the constant efforts for a 

performing and reliable product, these modules are sure to keep their qualities through their life

singlepower supply for a light signal on floating or fixed devices in 

harsh marine environment. 

The battery is built of alkaline cell, this contains 0 % lead or Cadmium, 

and is therefore classified as environmental friendly. Normally, the 

batteries can be disposed at a normal disposal station. 

A manufacturer´s environmental certificate can be submitted upon

with a choice of connection terminators suitable for the application. 

All cable outlets and lifting handles are attached to the batteries using 

waterproof joints. 

The battery will operate in vacuum, which is ideal for usage buoys that 

occasionally are submerged due to heavy sea or ice conditions. 

On request, an additional stand-off can be mounted to the bottom of 

the battery. The optimal storage temperature is between 0 to +20° C.
