However, one of the important reasons why Felix is
part of our team isn’t because of his skating results.
It is because of the person he is outside the races.
He has developed a strong connection to skaters of
all shapes and sizes outside of the traditional racing
scene.

FELIX RIJHNEN - A TRUE CHAMPION
Perhaps, the high point of Felix’s skating career came in 2014 when he won
the marathon at the European Championships. However as fate would have
it, it was a much more special day for Powerslide because it was also the
same day the Powerslide’s owner Matthias Knoll stood on the podium too for
the masters marathon:
“ That was a hard one for me, the performance of Felix put a lot of pressure
on me too. But as some would say, pressure creates diamonds...not every
time, but sometimes silver comes out. But Felix is someone who I have been
personally watching since 2006...that is where I first took notice of him.
During the years I can say we became friends. Going to events together,
went on training camps together and all I can say is that Felix is not just
an awesome guy on the track and road but also off. A true friend, a true
teammate, and never he lets you down. A true champion. He is there when
works needs to be done, he helps the brand to grow and shine, which is
exactly what you need in a sponsored skater. It’s not always about how fast
you can skate. He works booths and trade shows to became a true icon of
Powerslide. So yes he became part of the family that is for sure and we are
thankful to have guys like him on the team.”
