Writer of the Year Otis Windham Jr. Otis Windham Jr. is a native of Laurel, Mississippi and the author of “Thompsonville Collection: Mystic Song of the Deep South” and “Thompsonville Heritage : A Mystic Legacy” . Both books are available as EBooks on Amazon in Kindle format and also in paperback. Otis is a Viet Nam era U.S. Navy veteran and an active Senior member of the African American Golfing community. He has served as an Advisory Board member for African American Golfer’s Digest magazine since 2009. He was a Project Manager for Xerox Corporation and also worked as Media Services Manager for Golf Channel in Orlando until his retirement in 2009. He was Tournament Organizer and Coordinator for the annual Neckbone Classic Golf tournament ( a social and mentoring group for African Americans) from 1998 through 2009. In 2016, he was honored as a Black Golf pioneer by the Global Golf Institute. He is Vice President of the Orlando Renaissance Writer’s Guild whose mission is to ignite and propel the craft of writing. He also currently serves as <strong>Program</strong> Director for Heart2Heart Community Outreach in Orlando. Its mission is to elevate and support those in need in the urban community. He is alumni of Jackson State University, University Southern Mississippi and a graduate of Chapman University.
