Day 2: Sunday, August 13th<br />

i) Start point: Wannsee S-bahn station. Visit to the House of the<br />

Wannsee Conference (Holocaust memorial). (From Pentahotel take<br />

bus to Wannsee station; from city take S7 from Alexanderplatz, or<br />

Friedrichstrasse to Wannsee<br />

ii) walk back to Wannsee S-bahn station (30 mins) and take S7 to<br />

Potsdam Griebnitzee station.<br />

iii) walk from Griebnitzee to Volkspark Potsdam taking in Hiroshima<br />

Park, Griebnitzee Lake walk (including the villas occupied by Stalin,<br />

Churchill and Truman during the Potsdam conference of 1945,<br />

Glienker Bridge (Bridge of Spies), Park Bablesburg, Volkspark<br />

Potsdam Distance: 7 km<br />

This walk can take in the Jewish cemetery opened in 1743 which is<br />

only open on Sundays. Head cover necessary for this.<br />

iv) Lunch in Volkspark Potsdam<br />

v) Tram from Volkspark to Potsdam main station; S-bahn S7 to<br />

Alexanderplatz and S5 to Spandau and Hotel Lindendaufer<br />

vi) Median group<br />

vii) For those not staying in the hotel return to city centre on S5<br />

Day 3: Monday, August 13th<br />

i) Start Point: S-bahn station Wollankstrasse (From Spandau take S5<br />

to Friedrichstr. and S1 or S25 to Wollankstrasse; from city centre take<br />

S1 or S25 from Friedrichstr.<br />

ii) this walk follows the end of the cycle route and includes Bornholm<br />

Bridge, Platz des 9 November, Mauerpark (wall park), Bernaauer Str.,<br />

Chapel of Reconciliation, Memorial at Bernauer Str., Monument for<br />

Jewish Children’s Transports, Reichstag, Monument for Sinti and<br />

Roma, Monument for the Wall victims, Brandenburg gate, Holocaust<br />

memorial. Distance: 11 kms<br />

iii) Final Median <strong>Group</strong> in Maritim Hotel<br />

Options for Public Transport costs:<br />

• The walks cover 3 zones – A, B and C. Only the Potsdam stations<br />

on day 2 are in zone C. A dayticket for all three zones (ABC) is<br />

7,70Euro. A dayticket for Zone AB is 7 Euro.<br />

• A single trip for Zone ABC is 3,40Euro and for Zone AB<br />
