In the city centre of Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation<br />
lies a former cinema building ‘udarnik’.<br />
The building was completed in 1931<br />
by the<br />
architect Boris Iofan, who later won<br />
the competition for the palace of the<br />
Soveits.<br />
After the fall of communism the<br />
building soon became left unused.<br />
In 2014 a competition was initiated<br />
to transform the former cinema into<br />
a museum for contemporary art.<br />
