ASSOCIATION REPORTS
TEXAS LAND BROKERS NETWORK
2015 will have its challenges, just like every year in the farm, ranch and land brokerage business. The dynamic
impacts to our industry come from every direction, whether oil, water, government policy, marketing or industry
trends. TLBN is committed to providing the best networking, education and marketing opportunities we can
provide to our professional members and our affiliates.
There have been a a flood of new issues to affect our industry, which we are seeking to stay in front of with good factual
knowledge provided by leading experts. For example, much of of market is or will be affected by the recent devaluation of crude oil
and we excited to hear from Tony Pelletier with Alamo Resources provided us with a realistic expectation of the local micro economies
moving forward. Such expertise provided to our members provides for a better representation of our clientele.
As to what is to come in our upcoming meetings, TLBN is also organizing a lenders forum to try to inform the group of the coming
changes in rural lending imposed by Dodd-Frank. Additionally, we will soon be addressing the Federal arm of eminent domain the
processes, and devaluations we can expect from the High Speed Rail project.
We extend an invitation to ALL involved in the land business to join us the 2nd Tuesday of each month and enjoy our exceptional
luncheons. If you would like to receive notices of our meetings and be placed on our mailing list, please email Chris@IKnowRanches.
com, and we will do so. - TYLER JACOBS, PRESIDENT
TEXAS ALLIANCE OF LAND BROKERS
We had a great start to the New Year with over 80 members and guests attending our lunch meeting
in Fredericksburg. Our speaker provided useful information to our members regarding Pond and Lake
management. We had quite a few new members present and look forward to their input and networking.
Thanks to Christy Payne, National Account Manager with Farm and Ranch Publishing for coming down from
Dallas for our meeting. It was good to see long time member Mike Barbour with Cross Bar Land Company
who came in from Brady for the meeting. Long time member Jan Hutchinson and her daughter were also
present. Good to see so many long time members attending once again and reconnecting with everyone. We were saddened
to hear of the passing of long time member/director Jacob Casanova and pass along our sincere condolences to his family and
friends.
We welcome our new members:
Brent Graves/United Country – Alliance Auction & Realty in Stephenville, Tyler Wright/FindARanch.com in Menard and James
