of the

of
Jesus
Auxiliaries are linked in a special way with
the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus
and Mary in their Mission and in their
Charism. Membership is open to anyone
with a desire to love Jesus more and more.
What is promised by the Congregation
I. Daily Prayer for the Auxiliaries
and for their special
intentions.
2. A Mass for the Auxiliaries
and their families on the
First Friday of each month.
3. A quarterly publication,
" THE PULSE '', with items
of interest, and news of the
Congregation and of the
A uxi Iiaries.
4. Meetings and conferences,
depending on the numbers
in any given locality.
The Congregation of the Sisters
of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus
and Mary have Convents in
England, Scotland, Wales,
Ireland, U.S.A. (California) and
Africa (Zambia). Their
Apostolate or Mission includes
teaching, nursing, care of the
elderly, care of the mentally
handicapped, care of
one-parent families and various
forms of involvement in
Diocesan and Parish work.
What is asked of the Auxiliary
I. Daily Prayer:
Any prayer of choice, or an
'Our Father,' 'Hail Mary'
and 'Glory be' and the two
invocations specific to the
sisters' devotion,
'May the Sacred Heart of
Jesus be everywhere loved'
and 'Immaculate Heart of
Mary, pray for us.'
or to pray part of the daily
Office.
2. To accept daily at least one
inconvenience, suffering or
frustration without
complaining, and, if
possible, with a smile, or to
help someone in need.
Many auxiliaries will wish to
add to these, e.g. attendance at
Mass, other than that of
Sunday obligation, every
month, or even every week;
the Way of the Cross, etc.
The special intention of these
prayers and penance is for
God's blessing on the Sisters
and Auxiliaries as they try to
make the Sacred Heart of Jesus
better known and loved, and
for an increase in vocations to
the Congregation, and in the
number of Auxiliaries.
