music school Private Music Lessons for Adults and Children Weekly private lessons are offered in piano, violin, viola, cello, voice, clarinet, flute, guitar, banjo, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drums and harp. Children as young as five may study piano, violin and cello. More maturity is required to study brass, guitar, harp, woodwinds and voice. Students enrolling in two courses of private instruction receive a 10% discount on the second course. Families enrolling more than one student receive a 10% discount for each additional student. Terms are 12 weeks unless otherwise indicated. 30-minute Lessons $708 per term ($59 per lesson) 45-minute Lessons $804 per term ($67 per lesson) 60-minute Lessons $888 per term ($74 per lesson) Adult Classes Classical Chamber Music * Monday/Wednesday evenings $480 per term Neil Ryston, Instructor Jazz Vocal Workshop* Tuesday 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. $384 per term Lucy Galliher, Instructor Piano Performance Workshop* Saturday, once a month 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. $215 per annum In these workshop classes, participants will focus on their artistic development through collegial interaction with peers and GHMS faculty. Danyal Lawson, Instructor Music Theory and Solfege for Advanced Students Scheduled by Music Department 45-minute private lessons $804 per term Movement for Adults Yoga Fridays 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. $300 per term/$25 per drop-in class GHMS ballet instructor Julie Granger is a RYT-200 yoga instructor who graduated from the Pure Yoga teacher training program. She teaches a Vinyasa flow class, including elements of her training in Anusara, Hatha, Yin and Restorative Yoga. Classes feature an emphasis on alignment, purity and quality of movement, as well as injury prevention. 16 There is an additional piano maintenance fee of $10 per term for piano students only. *There is a 50% discount for registered private instruction students.
17 Summer Programming Continue your private lessons during the summer for a shortened six-week term, or pick a new instrument to learn. Summer Term 6 Weeks Mid June - Late July Summer Medley of the Arts Ages 3 - 4 Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. $315 per week/$1,890 per summer A half-day drop off class for children too young for all-day camp.
