Coding systems offer a
range of benefits for all
At interpack, Rea Jet
introduced a range of
coding and marking
systems along with mobile and
static code verifiers and a new
operating concept designed
to work across all of the
equipment produced by the
company.
The Rea Titan Platform
operating system is said to
represent the most diverse
and future-proof operating
and control system available.
Thanks to this uniform
operating concept throughout
all Rea coding and marking
technologies, every system
can be operated once the
operating logic is learned and
understood. Thus, no further
training is necessary for
operating other ink or
laser systems.
In addition to cost and time
savings, the risk of human
error is also reduced.
At the show, a new
generation of the globally
established large character
ink jet printers: Rea Jet DOD 2.0
was launched. The production
speed achieved is 600m a
minute, while its print head
durability has also been
increased. Another new family
member of the Titan platform
is the new continuous small
character inkjet printer, the
SC 2.0. This system can
print in up to eight lines at
48 vertical pixels, says the
company.
Also introduced was the
VeriPad, which is described
as the first mobile verification
device for 1D and 2D codes

which is operated via a 9.7in
touch tablet. The big screen
provides a comprehensive
overview and the measuring
optic can be rotated up to
180deg and guarantees best
code verification on both flat
and shaped bodies.
Meanwhile, the Rea Verifier
PC-Scan LD4 unit was also
introduced.

Smart glasses can
deliver real time
machine support
Remote Assist is a service
concept which enables Romaco
to support machines in real time.
Four machines at interpack were
equipped with smart glasses and
the technology permits virtual
communication between machine
operators and service technicians.
These internet-enabled smart
glasses allow Romaco’s machines
to be monitored from a distance
by connecting its technicians to
the machine operator at the user
via a Wi-Fi interface, anywhere in
the world. Customers requiring
urgent assistance to operate its
equipment can now opt for virtual
support from Romaco.
A camera integrated in the
glasses transfers its perspective
of the machine directly to the
Romaco hotline employee’s
monitor so the support team
can take action.
