Who<br />
We Are<br />
<strong>Maina</strong> & <strong>Maina</strong> is a going concern being a partnership. Our<br />
management style will give you an insight into the professional<br />
culture of the firm. We have in our employ Associates, legal<br />
interns, accountant, HR expert, court & conveyance clerks, and<br />
legal secretary; inter alia. This uniquely combines the friendly<br />
and personal service of a small law firm with the expertise and<br />
resourcefulness of a large law outfit.<br />
Our staffing levels coupled with an established network of<br />
correspondent Law <strong>Firm</strong>s in all major towns, strict checks and<br />
balances have rationalized our turn around time and mitigated<br />
delays in our services. In compliance with the Advocates<br />
(Accountants Certificate) Rules, we are ordinarily audited<br />
annually and issued with an Accountant’s Certificate.<br />
This ensures that all our clients’ funds are secure and have<br />
not been applied for purposes other than they were intended.<br />
Please note that we are also Commissioners for Oaths,<br />
Notaries Public and the Managing Partner is a Certified<br />
Public Secretary [CPS (K)], Patent Agent and a member of the<br />
Institute of Directors.

In theory, most firms are a one stop shop offering all services<br />
under one roof. We have however critically analyzed our<br />
strengths and specialized; thus allowing us to maximize on<br />
quality of services rendered and ultimately value for money. We<br />

Conveyance: All dealings in land (real estate) including<br />
preparation and registration of Leases, Transfers, Mortgages,<br />
Charges,(perfection of security) inter alia, Preparation and<br />
registration of Powers of Attorneys, Cautions and Caveats etc.<br />
Business & Corporate Law: Incorporation of Companies,<br />
Partnerships deeds, Contracts, Licenses,Leases, Private transfers<br />
of Shares, Memoranda of understanding, Sale or purchase of a<br />
business, Franchise assignments, listings at the Nairobi Securities<br />
Exchange, Joint Ventures and all aspects of corporate legal<br />
needs.<br />
Civil Litigation: Defense and prosecution of civil suits after<br />
careful and well thought out consideration including well<br />
articulated pre-brief legal opinion..<br />
Debt collection: For and on behalf of Corporate and individual<br />
clients.

Fees
Our fees are based on the Advocates (Remuneration) (Amendment) Order 2014. We<br />
also welcome our client’s suggestions in instances where the Order is silent due regard<br />
being had to the exigencies of service. As a gesture of good faith, we shall be available<br />
to offer your staff routine and general legal advice & opinions free of charge.<br />
Indemnity Cover<br />
We have taken out a full Professional Indemnity with Chartis Kenya Insurance Company<br />
Limited (formally AIG Kenya Insurance Company Limited) to cover against loss of funds,<br />
documents etc. This policy is reviewed and enhanced annually to reflect the growth of<br />
the <strong>Firm</strong>. A copy thereof is available on request..<br />

Martin <strong>Maina</strong><br />
Mr. Martin <strong>Maina</strong> holds a degree in law (LLB) from the University of Nairobi<br />
and was admitted to the Bar in 1998 after successefully completing a diploma<br />
with the Kenya School of Law (Dip. KSL). He is also a Certified Public Secretary<br />
(CPS-K), a registered Patent Agent, a Commissioner for Oaths. Further, he<br />
is registered Notary Public and has done the Entry Course in Arbitration Practice<br />
offered by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is currently enrolled<br />
for a Master of Law degree at the University of Nairobi (LL.M in Public Finance<br />
and Financial Services Law). He is the Managing Partner.
Kenneth <strong>Maina</strong><br />
Mr. Kenneth <strong>Maina</strong> holds a degree in law (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi<br />
and a diploma from Kenya School of Law (Dip.KSL). He was admitted to the<br />
Bar in the year 2002. He is also certified computer software and hardware expert<br />
and has excelled in courses on Human Resource Management and Corporate<br />
Governance.<br />
Maureen W. Maitai<br />
Mrs. Maureen Maitai holds a degree in Law (LL.B) from Catholic University of<br />
Eastern Africa and a diploma from the Kenya School of Law (Dip. KSL). She<br />
was admitted to the Bar in the year January 2013.<br />
Agnes Nyawira Gathigia<br />
Mrs. Agnes holds a degree in Law (LL.B) from Kenyatta University and a diploma<br />
from the Kenya School of Law (Dip KSL). She was admitted to the Bar in<br />
the year January 2016.
